The exhaust leak has always been there and we tried using better gaskets / copper RTV to seal it up. It came back again so I dunno. Just tired of dealing with it and want new headers lol. More than anything I want to stop paying for this rental car and drive my damn car again...
Yeah no kidding, I can imagine!

I'm sure AVO will look after you. Paul from AVO has always been quick at getting back to me whenever I've had questions.

It's been a few owners with exhaust leaks specially in the manifold to head flanges. I had it as well as a few other forum members.

I'm on the phone so if this post has mistakes, blame Autocorrect

Update:

Paul is working on finding me a new header either from the distributor or factory. Hopefully the previous so it gets here quickly.

It will be a long wait... I'm still waiting for him to know about an IC replacement and block fitting.

xpost from my build thread again:

Replacement part will be on its way from factory ASAP. It appears there is a communications breakup in the supply line... Thanks to @Pure Automotive and @AVOturboworld for the customer service. Don't know who the middle man is but... grumble grumble.
Paul handled it quickly as soon as he was made aware there was an issue (something I had to do myself). My recommendation to any who have an issue in the future.

My turbo kit exhaust manifold started leaking again too. Was already annoying when I changed gasket to the forester with the kit already installed. It hasn't really bothered me enough to take the manifold out to resurface the flanges. I thought it was just me with the exhaust leak issue.

While I wait for my kit to arrive, can somebody tell me how the BOV/BPV is positioned in the kit? Can I use a BOV (that vents to atmosphere) without dumping metered air and running rich?

Also, for people with exhaust leaks at the header flanges. Is the problem that the two flanges are twisted in relation to each other, or are they just not smooth/flat enough?

BOV sits looking down in the pipe that is entering the throttle. There is no way with the BOV position (after MAF) to not dump unmetered air. a 50/50 BOV is not a huge deal and can be tuned out.

My exhaust flanges where not smooth/flat enough.

Trust me when I say you want to get it taken care of ASAP. It's going to be impossible to tune the car correctly with a leak at the flanges.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=91

I have had custom intake piping created so that my MAF is blow through and I have a 100% vent BOV. I'll be posting updates of the sound and performance changes entailed.

Most just need to be resurfaced. My header pipes somehow torqued to where they were uneven. Still not sure when or why that happened. I had the need for resurfacing too though.

Thanks for the replies. There's a lot of old information/speculation from the original thread. At one point people thought the kit was going to ship with a Bosch BPV. I think I also read talk that it wouldn't need to recirculate.

you can get it with a very cheap Bosch OEM style BOV. or jus upgrade t their 50/50 capable AVO BOV
