I curious gow many of you have ever really been working on cars beyond the 86...the number of people that say name brand or your gay always amazes me n this forum.

I have had eBay headers for my e36 and the outcome was great. There are some knockoffs that that are great. It's amazing (and not in a good way) what the Chinese do with their copying. I figured maybe somebody has tried something like this

I just want an exhaust on my car and I don't feel I need to spend $600 for an inexpensive muffler and some pipe. It's either something like this or one of the q300 clones at the moment.

Don't buy. I have a buddy who actually works for k2 motor. He's personally told me their products are garbage. Not worth the $300

Personally I would never buy a header or a turbo from ebay. I had an ebay header on my 03 WRX and the welds cracked not long after install. And way to many horror stories about turbos to even consider. Yes, and exhaust is nothing more than just some pipe but for some the peace of mind of knowing that it will sound, perform, and hold up to the weather more then outweighs the additional costs. Just buy used if you want to save money.

At $320, you can get an N1 (a quality exhaust, I've used Invidia products and they are quality) for under $600 shipped. It is quality steel, Invidia engineered/designed it, and it fits perfect. Personally, I would go with the real Invidia product. I understand everybody is on a budget, but if you can save $320 to buy an exhaust you can probably wait a month or two longer and save $575 to buy a much better exhaust. My humble opinion.

I've bought other exhaust products (won't name mfg) that I've literally had to hammer and bend hangers/components to fit right. That sucks. You might be doing same thing with an ebay product. And I would guess the steel is not quality 304SS or better. That is big consideration for longevity especially if you live in a cold weather climate that sees road salt!!

I think it would be fine, so long as you don't expect it to sound like an N1, last like an N1, or fit like an N1. And I'm not being condescending either. If your ok with a few possible fitment issues and understand the mufflers will not be packed with the same material or (possibly) in the same way then go for it.

I would buy my own hardware though.. gaskets as well.

The Evo 3 replica on ebay i was told was 2.5" dia. The Evo 3 is 2.75. Not sure if the seller was a numb skull or if the konck off's are not as similar as they appear to be to the originals.

Because

A) I am not made of money and neither are you
B) It is a $30,000 car
C) the material cost for the muffler systems is not $600-1,000
D) I have other priorities like taking care of my fiancé, paying bills, etc.
E) Because if everyone just accepted the norm we would all pay WAY to much.

the purpose of even posting this is to see if anyone has tried it yet. I just find it funny how many people are so set on having to have a name brand. There can be good knick offs, and I'm just trying to see who has tried it already.
