The only reason I got mine replaced is because they changed the part number completely on the pump. I thought it was a completely different one, but it still is made by the same company and the internals were changed a bit.

Next pump I replace will be a non "Champion" branded HPFP. This crap is getting old, but until they stop beating around the bush and actually take it seriously, we're going to have crickets for a long time.

4k on my new pump. no crickets. 94 petro canada octane only. MUCH better overall driving experience (i have an auto, difference btw 92 and 94 is equivalent to sport mode being on all the time... with out actual activation...) average lifetime fuel consumption is 8.1 l/100km

Since I am in canada, it is possible that the temperatures inside teh engine bay do not get hot enough for the new fuel pump to warp etc. So it is possible crickets will be back in summer.

I have not fueled up a single time with lower than 94 octane since install. These cars seem RLY fidgety w the fuel.

I am a total stickler for Shell V-Power 93. On the rare exception that I drive by a BP station BP 93 goes into tank.

Remember when Sunoco offered Ultra 94?

Don't you think there is an additive that exists that won't foul the plugs and/or CATs

My 2014 just started this evening around 950 miles. You'd think it being in issue on the 2013's they'd have fixed it by now -___-

I used to use petro Canada 94 but I realised that it made my car have the crickets so I switched to shell v - power and don't hear them anymore .

My 2014 had them as well and I just got the new pump which has solved the issue for now.

Get the new pump. Even if it's a temp fix with them coming back, I'm 100% happier not having to hear them in the mean time.

It sounds like there's no completely "fixed" pumps. Should I just leave it alone and use strictly gas that's known not to have them? I filled up on Marathon 93 this morning so I'm assuming that could have started it. I guess il run this tank out and fill up with Shell and see if it stops.

Some people swear by using non ethanol gas to avoid chirps but it hasn't been a consistent fix.

If it's bothering you then take it in for the time being.

If anyone remembers my bet, there won't be a fix for something considered normal.. Never will be. . Especially when there are zero failures and its a nvh issue rather than an actual mechanical one.. Learn to embrace it.. its a di engine and they all make noises.. difference is other manufacturers use a lot more sound deadening

At toyota right now. He said they recently found the problem and recalled the pump. So they're putting a completely different one in my car.
