in my own experience, most people do not install their wheels correctly, even racers

without rings, the procedure is to hand tighten in a start pattern, SLOWLY (the most important part that is often ignored, esp by users of air/power tools), so that the centering force of each individual nut brings the entire wheel into proper alignment. Final torquing should be done with the wheel in the air.

hell, this should be the procedure even WITH the rings, as this will guarantee the most balanced installation

i have personally corrected many "vibrating wheels" after leaving various mechanics by simply re-installing the wheels by hand and standard torque wrench.

Yea. Im probably ALMOST as anal as you are. I usually torque in 3 steps using the star pattern. If a wheel needs 80 ft-lbs. Ill do every lugnut at 30,50 then 80. I cant Stand watching tire shops blast each lugnut on fullblast one at a time. Even when they use torque sticks i still go home and redo it

Actually, I'm thinking

Hot lava body and calipers with either these CH-R's or the Satin Black CH-R's. Depends on which will look better with some dark tints.

Not sure if they come in 5x100 but I plan on doing the hub conversion to 5x114 anyway.

CH-Rs no, CHs, yes. They come in Audi/VW fitment. 18x8.5 +30. I've also seen 17x8.5 +35. I don't know if the centerbore is the right size. You might need a hubring or to bore the wheel out.

Do we know the specs of the wheel on the GReddy FR-S yet? Those were pretty low offset compared to stock.

We could find the specs but we can't really be sure of anything because these wheels were on 5x114.3 (aka modified) hubs...

BUT!

I emailed Rays Asking them what specs the wheels on the demo 86 were.. (the white one, very aggresive setup!)... and they replied!!!

Front: 19x8.5 +45
Rear: 19x9.5 +45

Does anyone know of any wheels that look like the FT86 I Concept wheels? I realized I have a HUGE thing for rounded surface 5 slanted spoke wheels...I love the Porsche 996 stock wheels, and the FT86 I Concept wheels would be perfect (well, IMO the portion near the hub that's kinda funny looking needs a little sandblasting). I guess slanted spokes might not be that strong though.

Very cool. Which car is this? I was thinking of the black GReddy FR-S with the 5x114.3 hub swap and the STI Brembos.

Doubtful. The most stolen car of 2012 will be the Honda Civic, just like every other year ever.
