I do know that it uses PI while cranking and then remains on PI for roughly 60 seconds then switches to DI. |

My guess would be that the starter kicking the motor doesn't spin the mechanical DI pump enough to generate the PSI at the rail needed for the DI so it has to start on PI. I would think that the time it had to stay on PI prior to changing to DI could be manipulated in the coding.

This right here is exactly why I want an FBM kit when I am finally ready (if ever) to go fully fledged FI. Nothing but fantastic customer service with a focus on their customers every step of the way.

i wonder if a custom map outputting ratio vs. load and rpm just like the stock one might override the settings in the other modes too?

It really makes you wonder just how much is left on the table with the factory programming, and how much truncation this is with certain custom maps.
But, that isn't what this thread is about. What do you think (based on what an intake change like this seen on any other motor) would do for power? Do you think it will boost higher RPM torque, boost low end torque, increase the usable rev range (make power above 7k rpm)? |

We obviously would be happy with gains all across the board. We have found that if you get too aggressive on the plenum, you lose the low end but increase power up top.
Ideally, we would like to see gains more in the mid range and the power carrying out past 7k but there's only one way to find out.. |

I'm not going to lie, 250WHP on e85 is the magical number for me. I think it is possible on this platform by year's end.
Edit: That is NA of course. |
