Need some advice from locals
With new wheels comes new rubber! I am looking at getting Enkei RPF1 17x8.0 +45 and need suggestions on what tires work well. I have not yet established a price range I am looking in to but, I do know I am looking for a great summer tire with some longevity. Note* might be autocrossing in the near future as well.

I'd suggest the +35 17x9 Enkei with 245/40/17s. |

I like my Continental DW, but don't know that I would recommend them for someone looking to autocross. I hear these have a softer sidewall/vague turn-in compared to other performance summers, but I just use mine as my daily commuter set in the warmer months.

Think of a Lower Offset and a bigger wheel if you plan on having a BBK. Otherwise this is a perfect wheel setup for you

The 17x8 +45 Enkei RPF-1's will work fine with just about any BBK. Plenty of clearance on my AP Racing Sprint Kit. It's the 17x9's you have to watch out for with BBK due to different spoke design.

Other BBK's most likely won't fit with those wheels dont want to limit your selection

I upped to 17x8 +45 RPF1's for this year to run wider ZII's then I did last autocross season. If you are going to daily the car, ZII's are a very aggressive. They're awesome, but will wear out quickly so I would not road trip on them. I would recommend setting them up so that you can swap them on for autocross, then swap back to the stockers with random whatevers for daily use. You can always swap the racing setup on for a spirited drive as well.
I ran a 225 ZII on a stocker last year in autocross, and it was good. This year, the 245's should be just right for some extra footprint. Definitely get them from Brady, cause he is awesome.

I ran 235 ZII's on my Ultraleggera 17x8 wheels last year. I dailied on them and did several events and they held up ok. They weren't enough for the power at one point though.
I'm going up to 245 Pilot Super Sports for the next year since they add more longevity and still have extremely high traction rating on tirerack (as high as the ZIIs in fact... go figure).

Need some advice from locals
As others have mentioned, the Dunlop z2s are a great choice.
It's hard to go wrong in the ultra high performance summer tire class, lots of great tires. The Michelin pilot super sports are at least one of the best choices, but they are considerably more pricey, along the lines of Pirelli p zero neros, also one of the best, but expensive. If you are okay getting a comparable tire for slightly less money, I personally run Hankook ventus Evo V12s. They are An amazing tire for the money, and while their dry grip isn't AS amazing as Michelin or Pirelli, they are def. comparable and extremely grippy in their own right, and they will last longer tread wise, and do better in the rain (relatively). And they are in the same UHP summer class as the dunlops, Michelin, and Pirelli. The kumho ecstas are also good for the money, as well as the bf Goodrich g forces. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

with a 17x8 RPF1 will i need to run coilovers? or should i say at which point will i need to run coilovers? (i do intend on purchasing those this year as well)

No, you won't need to run coilovers for the 17x8 unless you go with a ridiculously wide tire (like 255-265) then you might get some rubbing. That said, using coilovers to get extra camber really helps tire life when doing autocross or track days.
