My car with the Robispec radiator was running at 220 under no load on the dyno, and the FB slim fans died within a few minutes on the dyno.

I swapped the Robispec out for a Full Blown radiator, spal fans, and shroud, along with a revised downpipe that is supposed to give extra clearance.

It was still all too close when finished (I had wrapped the downpipe and header) and at the shop, I concluded that we needed to move the radiator forward.

About 1.5" was gained by drilling holes forward of the lower mounting holes and moving the radiator forward.

This was a relatively easy mod, and IMO should be something everyone should do. It By Far gains you the most clearance. It's easy to accomplish since the front of the car is already off.

FB also sent some new upper mounting tabs that also moved the upper part of the radiator forward as well. The stock upper radiator hoses do not allow much forward movement however, whereas the lower hose has no issues stretching the extra 1.5''.

With this done, I should have 1.5'' to 2" clearance, which is still really close IMO, but that's enough room to also slip some heat shielding between the fans and exhaust.

Part of the reason for the high temps i think is the turbo and exhaust are so close to the radiator, so gaining clearance in that area will make a big difference I think.

We will see tomorrow hopefully, when my tuner gets back to tuning.

That sounds nice Mike, I have data on my current setup, I'll see what I get after the new changes, then I'll try out what you suggested. Thanks

My downpipe is heat coated AND wrapped, and the turbo is blanketed.

With the new rad and shroud I think that might do it, if not I might try a new racing thermostat.

If that doesn't work, I might try to engineer some air excavation for the bay, I already have a vented hood.

Thanks for the link though
give me a deal on your mishimoto?
