Its basically to find out how many calories your body will burn by just basically doing nothing. So if you woke up and sat on your couch all day, you would burn "xxxx" amount of calories. This is your maintenance calories. So if you were to eat this amount everyday, and lets say do some cardio and burn off 200 calories twice a week, in theory you should lose weight. So by finding out what your BMR is based off your activity level will help you set the foundation of what you should be eating calorie wise to either maintain, gain, or lose weight.

Do you have any proof of your 12%bf at your current weight now? Not taking anything away from you, but gaining 44 pounds of basically muscle is not common (naturally anyways).

A lot of people throw BF % out there and they really don't have any idea on what a real reading is, lol. Either way, good job gaining weight.

The idea of just "eating" to get big though doesn't always work. Really depends on what body type you have.
I went to Human Performance Lab which had a hydro static composition test. You can get your body fat done there and its accurate to 1% (apparently). It costs about $50 and many universities offer this through the kinesiology department.

I was hesitant about posting due to skepticism and because people claim outrageous bodyfat percentages like you mentioned. I have before and after photos but I don't feel like turning this into a bodybuilding.com current body thread.

No worries.

And no troll here. Been messing with Subaru's for a long time, and know a few people on here in real life. Just don't like to see some bs getting posted.

Ask xxscaxx if I'm a troll

Here's my question:

I do a lot of home fitness. (Push ups, pull ups, sit ups, and curl 35lb dumbbells) what's a good effective everyday routine utilizing all of that?

What resources do you use to determine this when dieting?
The most accurate way to determine your body fat is submerging your enitre body in water, than scientists can calculate it 100% but not every person has the expenses to afford that procedure. The next best thing is buying a fat calculator. Those are usually 80% accurate. I think the way it works is it sends a electrical signal through out your body and when it returns to the machine it tells implements the lags and calculates it to body fat. Pain free but a bit pricey.

Most online body fat measurements aren't 100% accurate but it will get you somewhere to start. Every person takes in their carbs proteins, and fats differently. As my mom would say, theres people that get fat from water (not literally.) Thats why it takes years for someone to learn how their body reacts to different food.

The fastest way is to work on your form. You have people like richard hawthorn who weighs 135 but pulls 600 for reps. That guy is strong but his form is what helps him the most. Your form is what will get you to 600 but in the case of what will you you there the quickest...

You have to have a extreme calorie increase. Instead of dead lifting once a week start dead lifting three times a week. Get to a power rack and set up some spotting bars. Do some dead lifts from half way to lock position and some dead lifts on a negative. That means your ascended from the ground more than average. That will build your beginning pull. The halfway up pull will increase your lock. Each of these should be your 80-85% max for about 3-4 reps.

Imo the easiest way is to sumo deadlift. Smaller range of motion but it's still a legit pull. Get a comfortable belt because thats also considered legal. If you really want to hit that 600 might as well get some wrist wraps, a suit, some shoes, and chalk. Iunno how you want to hit your 600.

*i fed it*
