So here's a legitimate random thought for you guys. I've decided I want a jacket like the one from Drive, though not that exact jacket. Don't want to look like someone trying to be cool wearing a replica jacket.

The safest speed isn't the one posted on the sign if everyone around you is going a speed other than that. The safest speed is that of everyone around you. You can't hit something that's traveling in the same direction at the same speed as you are.

If you start driving like the people around you, you just might find that it is less stressful. After driving in a few places that have very different styles of driving I've found that the old saying "when in Rome..." is exceptionally true when it comes to driving. Driving in Souda Bay made driving in NYC look like a quite walk along the shore of a deserted island. But once I started driving as aggressively as everyone else, it was actually much safer because everyone around me was expecting me to drive that way. Where I live and work I basically move through three different styles of driving. Fairly aggressive in the city near work, calm on the highways to my suburban town, and then damn near country bumpkin slow when I get off the highway. If I drive like I'm in the city the whole way, I can cut about 5 minutes off my commute time. If I drive like I'm in the town the whole way I'll add about 10 minutes. But in both cases by the time I get where I'm going I'm seething with rage and have narrowly avoided a hand full of accidents. If I just drive like the people around me its a much calmer and safer drive.
I was considering on bring that part up at that moment, but I'm glad someone did.

While we are all at it. What do guys think about raising the speed limit on the highway? Think it will be fine (say going 75 - 80 mhp) or will it lead to danger/accidents?

I have no idea what said jacket you're talking about, never seen that movie (I think), but I almost bought this expensive brown genuine leather jacket after dropping mad dough on my new suite today. Then I thought I said nope.... need... to... save... for... new... car.

On another note, I ran into the ex today, dafuq, and she tried so hard again to get back with me. Then she became a hateful bitch. Reluctantly I put her back in her place. What sweeten the moment was onlookers were on my side once I dropped some knowledge on her.
So glad she finally get the picture.

The speed limit on interstates around here is already 75 (away from cities), and it seems to work just fine. Everyone seems to drive 75 - 80 most of the time, and (at least as far as I can tell) there aren't any more accidents than there are in areas with lower limits. If anything, I think there's a lot less speeding, and more people drive at similar speeds to everyone else on the highway (which is actually safer than having some people at 55 and others at 80).

I'm kind of on the fence about raising the speed limit.
For one, cars have gotten a shitton more safe throughout the years. Airbags, ABS, to name a few.
But at the same time, you have to think of the other modes of transportation that use the same system. Motorcycles, and big-rigs, say if someone had to stop for some reason to avoid an accident, big-rigs going at a higher speed limit would have less time to react and to stop in time. And then there's little cars, such as jellybe--..miatas, and the 86 twins. People already barely see the cars (apparently).
What's your take on raising the speed limit?

Also, that is such a sweet feeling to see an ex and put them in their place. My ex gloated all the time on the internet, but when I saw him in real life? (We were a LDR) He ballooned to 450 pounds. Yikes.

Oh, it's awesome.
Especially when they say how successful and how great they've become after the breakup, to find out they're 25, 450 pounds, and their mom still does their laundry.

And guys say women are the confusing gender.

That awkward moment you bring your pc to your nerd friend to fix and have to tell them to not look through your photos.
Dear god, I really hope he doesn't.

He did. Absolutely 100% he did look through them. If it wasn't for the comment I would say there was a 50/50 shot that he didn't, but as soon as you said not to, that was his number one priority. Sorry.

I read a traffic study once that showed drivers as a group will find the safe speed of a road. There's a lot of visual factors, lane width, surrounding etc. that we take into consideration when we find a speed that feels safe to us. Now road construction as started taking this into consideration. They've been putting in roundabouts in my city as things expand and they designed them to include a ton of visual clues to slow down, not just signs, but the slope of the road going in, the height of the mound in the middle of the roundabout, how narrow the lanes are, and the slope and distance to the ground to side of the road. And it works.

I'm all for setting speed limits to the mean speed being driven on a highway as that will typically be safest speed. There's generally two groups of people on the road, those that are rule bound and believe that traveling the speed limit will save them, and those that aren't rule bound and chose to go a speed that is safe, but more time efficient than the speed limit. Bringing those two groups together has in many places led to less accidents.

Haha! Hes engaged! A Total gentleman nonetheless! It was rather awkward, but I looked him straight in the eye, dead serious look. He knew, we had a good laugh afterwards, his fiancé was there too. We're really close-I trust him. But ya know, there's always that “what if“ “total blackmail forever“ lol. I'd like to think he has enough fun looking through the computers at his job he'll resist looking at mine.

I'm not hot unfortunately, just skinny.
my personality makes up for it tho... Or so I hope.
