I saw the car at Subaru West Houston today and put down the order. I was positively suprised when I saw the car live. I had decided to go for dark grey metallic and walked out with an order on a Rally blue. I think the car was awesome in Rally blue. Dark grey is too dark, almost black.
I ordered:
- WR blue, manual, Limited edition
- Rear underneath spoiler (have no idea how it looks like)
- 10" subwoofer ( I know extra weight but bass is important)
- autodimming mirror
- caps and batteri protection, rear fender protector, car cover etc.

I am No. 4 at West Houston.

Got the chance to see it today at Gillman North. Wow. It is awesome. The shifter, the sound (got to rev it a little), the seats, the feel...it's like a custom glove. I can't believe how low you sit in it. Lower than my lowered Integra of yesteryear. And the room! Front area is so roomy, my 5'9" head felt the rear glass in the backseat.

And for size comparison, here's my stock Protege5. Makes it look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Woof.

The salesman (Pat, a great guy) told me they 4 had deposits down and they'd be receiving a total of 12 cars this calendar year. I'm gonna be waiting 12-18 months to buy one.

Has Anyone in Houston who preordered got an Email from SOA with their Vehicle Order Number (VON)?

I got the official preorder confirmation from SOA the morning after my order was placed. Did you get it too?

I know some people didn't get confirmation emails from SOA because their email addresses were not entered at the time of ordering. Another reason might be that SOA sends emails out on a per shipment basis. If you're not part of the first batch, you might have to wait to get your confirmation. Check with Brian to see whats up and keep us updated!

I did not get an email either. I pre-ordered from Gillman Southwest. Do you know if I can still change my order (auto to manual) if I have not received the SOA confirmation email yet? I have been told my car will come in late summer so I assume my order is not in the "first batch"

I'm not sure about changing orders but given that you haven't received a confirmation from SoA yet, I don't see why it would be a problem. Give Brian or Wally a call tomorrow and post their responses on here. I'm curious too!

I started working with Wally but am now communicating through James (internet sales manager). I shot him an email tonight, will let you know what his response is tomorrow!

James got back to me today and said he could change my order but it may drop me to the bottom of the order list since he may have to cancel my order and create a new one. He emailed Subaru and is waiting for confirmation. Guess that could mean a few more months of waiting for me

Just an update:

James said he changed my order and that the Distribution Department thinks I have maintained my position in line. Whew!
