That is a true story. We've all received an online questionnaire after purchasing, that list is pretty much spot on, except they haven't added the extra power we've asked for.

Just out of curiosity, what unit does the BRZ come with. Is it the Kenwood?

I find the current touchscreen unit (TAS300) in the 86 quite decent - it's not exactly feature packed, but has a nice simple clean interface and more importantly blends in with the design of the interior. My only gripe is that the volume knob is tiny and a bit difficult to use on the move. Surprised to find that my iPhone integrates nicely with it, both via USB cable and Bluetooth which supports streaming audio capability.

Haha regarding that, I've asked quite a few branches in cape town and they all say they offer the TRD system...but the exhaust itself is R18k and to install it you need a new rear bumper and diffuser which will cost in total of R28k +/-. Funny thing is when I ask them how much performance increase they said "We not sure, but it won't be much"..........you serious.

I could visit Subaru and they can almost guarantee 7kw increase from their exhaust system for less than 7k with installation fee. Because I know that my cousins BRZ (Which he is getting it this afternoon) is 154kw on paper, compared to our 147kw. Not a huge difference, but its an increase nonetheless, as well as sound...

I'll take a look later today in my cousins car, the BRZ system can play DVD movies, it comes with a remote, an ipod cable and a touchscreen pen thingy - like a samsung note 3 pen. Which is pretty decent to be honest, and it comes with SatNav as well...which for Toyota 86 its like another 7k to install.

Are you sure that radio comes standard in the BRZ though? I've only been in one and it had the crappy Hilux radio that ours originally came with.

I see their site is listing this:
Touch screen SAT NAV DVD with bluetooth

As optional and this:
Premium Audio system with SRS Circle Surround Automotive*¹: CD player with 6 speaker system

as stock. So I guess they've also dropped the Hilux radio.

Yes, they did drop the Hilux stereo in favour of the better new unit. I had the option of upgrading that in September, when I picked up my '13 model.
The quote they gave me was 10K though, so I told them not to bother.

I'm not quite sure about the pricing, but i'll take a photo of my cousins system and perhaps ask Subaru about it as well. I do it through a different company. Sound & something something...don't remember the name

To be honest, I am glad I didn't spend money on a sound system.
I have used mine MAYBE 4 times since September, never for more than 10 minutes.

It's a bit of a mission but don't bother, won't work on your car. I can guarantee it.

If you can't get the horn relay, try the rear fog relay. It has a bit more space around it. Easiest way to get it out is to gently pry it up from one side, then the other until it moves slightly higher each time. It is a bit tight to work with though.
