Love the color you wrapped your S2000 with. If you don't mind, what is the brand and color/color-code for that vinyl you used for future reference?

you are a loser sell all of it! s2000, is junk, BRZ all rice.
Long time no chat.

RE-11 were a monster disappointment for me. Big pricetag, marginal performance. But they have very little road noise. Good street tire just dry grip for price was a let down.

Haha, I thought it had to be you when I saw some of your posts, never seen anyone else use Dezoris!

Good to know about the RE-11, I wonder if they fixed some of those problems with the new RE-11A?

Yeah, the hardtop really completes the car visually, too bad they all creak and still get wind noise, it's one of the reasons I wanted to move on.

Wooooo. Another member I remember from the S2ki forums. My reasons for getting an FRS were pretty much the same as yours. I like the choice in parts so far, especially the tails.

I've been meaning to write this up for a while so I may as well now.

I've only had the BRZ for ~2 weeks so I don't know the full limits of the car yet but I know enough to compare the 2 cars in terms of street driving.

Why the BRZ?
I owned the s2000 for 3.5 years and due splitting up with my fiancee, I no longer had the use of a more practical car when needed, there were some small grievances with the s2k that were starting to get to me and it was starting to get up there in mileage (approaching 90k). I originally set out to buy a 08/09 M3 Sedan, test drove one and loved it, but after talking it over with some people became worried about maintenance costs so I looked at other options. After driving a Cayman S, 370z, Genesis Coupe, Si Sedan, STI and the BRZ; the BRZ ended up being the best mix of what I wanted out of a car and what I loved about the s2000. Plus I could buy one brand new for nearly 10k cheaper than a used 6 year old BMW.

General Fit/Finish
In general the BRZ feels nicer than the s2000 in a lot of ways. Of course a car in 2014 is going to have some more creature comforts but the Smart Key, auto climate, and heated seats really make it feel like a fairly high end car. The interior isn't nearly as claustrophobic feeling as the s2000 and the materials/red stitching really make it feel well thought out. Driving position is great, the s2000 seat sits a little high in the cabin, but the BRZ seat feels spot on (at least for me at 6'1"). The fixed roof keeps road noise much lower than the s2000 and there are less creaks and noises in general.

Handling
My s2000 was on 2 way TEINs for a while, but when it was stock everything felt very similar. They're both very nimble and capable feeling cars, the biggest limiting factor in the BRZ are the stock tires for sure. But overall both cars feel like they follow very similar handling goals/principles.

Power
The BRZ is down 47hp from the s2000 but in real world driving you don't really feel it. The boxer motor and gearing on the BRZ make it a really fun car to blast around in and you have enough power to have fun on public roads. I've only had some limited spirited driving sessions in the car, but overall the BRZ feels great. Sure, more power would be great, but it's a very fun car as is.

Overall
I'm extremely happy with my purchase and so far don't miss the s2000 at all. The BRZ to me has a lot of what made me love the s2000, while fixing a lot of the complaints I had about the s2000 when it's your only car. It gives me a backseat I can use in a pinch to carry a 3rd person (did this once already and it worked out better than I thought, good thing my girlfriend and her sister aren't tall), and with the decently sized trunk and folding seats I can fit larger purchases that the s2000 just couldn't carry. All of the modern creature comforts have been really nice to have and make the car more enjoyable as a daily driver. The s2000 is an amazing car and a fantastic platform, but for what I need out of a car the BRZ is infinitely better suited and I couldn't be happier.

I thought you had a yellow S2000 turd for a while that was riced out?
I don't really troll this forum much, more serious because a lot of the tweens who have this car on here cant take jokes.

I read your mini review and it's funny. I get in the FR-S even supercharged and am so bored by the motor. Its just so uninspiring, the same way it is getting into a majority of the eco 4 bangers. Going back into the S2000 you get that immediate visceral feeling this is a performance N/A motor. Car is just tighter all the way around. Taking a look and the S2000 frame and suspension design it had a purpose. Get under the 86 and its cost cutting, and basic eco car strut front and multilink rear.

By far the 86 is more comfortable and livable daily, has plenty of potential. It does most everything better than average and feels excellent and comfortable to drive. But that overwhelming feeling is, its a glorified shit box no matter how you tart it up. The fact that the car is being riced beyond recognition like the old Civics, drops the appeal heavily.

After dumping over 15k into the FRS, I get into a stock S2000 and enjoy it more on a weekend drive every time. But like you said to drive it daily its different.

Yeah, I had that one back in 08/09, had a few cars between it and the last s2000.

A small amount of us still keep in touch through FB, I play BF4 with Ghost and a few of the guys fairly often.
