If all goes well it should be fine. Why not have them do the install too? ;-) They know their turbo better than anyone else.

I'm kinda nervous doing 20+ hrs with the kit in my trunk. I don't want things getting dented or broken by the time I get there
You think it'll be ok?

Give them a call and ask. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you.

If you're mechanically inclined, install the kit, load the base map, check over your install, make an appointment, book a hotel and hit the road! Try your best to stay out of heavy boost.

Knowing the type of Tuner Toan is, that base map is very safe to run on until it's tuned but the tune should be done as soon as possible after install.

If you want them to install it and you're concerned about transporting it yourself, you could always arrange to ship it to them so it'll be there when you show up. Assuming you have all the original boxes, you wouldn't need to package it again. You'll spend a bit on shipping though since it's multiple boxes.

I've never driven 20 hrs to them but I did drive 13hrs from Alabama to them to be tuned in a previous turbocharged vehicle that was running very lean due to an incomplete tune by a shop in GA. The drive back was great though! The car ran great without a single problem for 5 years and 70,000 miles after until I ultimately parted out and traded it in.

IMHO, they're one of the best, if not the best, shops around.

I gave them a call before to give them heads up. My first option was to travel with the base map but I might just drive there with all the boxes too lol. I don't trust too many shops around here.
And thanks for your info! Makes me wanna get tuned by them more now lol. It'll be worth the drive

It will be fine. It is meant to go into your engine bay so its not like its glass ;-) Just wrap the IC pipes in a couple towels and keep heavy items on bottom and lighter items on top. I'm glad you're considering PTuning to work on the install/tune. I went through the same thing you are going through - no one around here has touched this kit yet so they either don't want to touch it or will charge more than it would for other kits to install or tune. That's why I ended up installing it myself. I would have drove cross county to PTuning but I couldn't get the time off work. I am planning a trip in the summer time though and I'll probably be buying all the other goodies they have like race headers etc... ! =)

Haha okay thanks for heads up. And yes not many shops have touched this kit so I'm worried the tune might be bad. I'll be going during summer as well! So will you be running onbase map until summer then?

It's an electrical scavenging pump. Should not be an issue, been using it on our s2000 turbo kit since it's release in 2010. If you have any questions regarding the kit feel free to call or pm us.

Although we've been relatively quiet on the boards lately, it doesn't mean that we haven't been busy developing and testing new parts for this platform.

We're putting the finishing touches on our prototype Plug and Play E85, Flex-Fuel, Return Style, Swirl Pot (Surge Tank) Fueling System. We'll be testing it in conjunction with our 4-1 EL Race Header and GTX3076R Turbo. We're hoping to have some E85 dyno numbers up within the next 1-2 weeks.

Was there ever a 91 octane dyno released for us CA folks for this kit?

I searched most of this post and can't find anything. Thanks!

Will probably take someone from a 91 octane state purchasing the kit to get those numbers. When I see 91 octane and FI mentioned together, especially talking about a stock engine, I kind of cringe. I'd be looking at mixing in some race gas or doing Water+Meth injection, never running straight 91.
