I just looked back through my logs and I was thinking of learned KC, and I was misremembering that anyway.

Thanks for spotting the location!

If default final gear 4.1 shows
8965.7
5942.19
4460.07
3601.66
2851.76
Is that mean Final gear 4.556 should be
9962.861
6603.077
4956.117
4002.235
3168.931
?
I just use 8965.7*4.1/4.556

It would have been great to overlay a stock tune run in that dyno graph because the dip is twice as deep and much wider. Hard to see how much improvement there is without a baseline

But to get rid of the dip completely, without adding boost, you'll need a UEL header and an E85 tune.

Give me 30 days. I will get you some numbers. I am hoping to book a few dyno runs to see if I can hit the magical 200+ WHP with E85, UEL Header, OP, and cat back exhaust.

Just some advice when dyno testing on E85:

Unlike running gasoline, you won't make max power until the 3rd or 4th run. E85 is strange that way. I usually see power climb 1-2 hp each run with no changes to tuning (with 30 sec of cool-down between runs). So definitely get used to making more runs next time. Once power stabilizes (reaches max), you can then make your next change.

Shiv, just noticed on the openflash website that you now have an OFT for the miata guys. Looks like I'll have to give a couple of my friends who have miatas a call to let them know so they can join in on the fun!

I noticed that too when I was DLing the new XML files.

While we are at it, is there anyway you can set up an email list to auto-notify of new beta .DEVs and XML files @shiv@vishnu?

I'd like to see a .bin repository and associated forum. People could upload and download their .bin files which could then be rated and reviewed by others. With so many different calibrations on this car it could be rather HUGE however, but I think people would step up and port stuff from cal to cal. Eventually I suspect something like this will happen anyway.

Exactly, especially since there are other programs that allow for user tuning. It would be really nice to have everything compiled. I think @jamesm was working on a directory of some sort.

i have a site i've been working on that will allow users to upload and share roms, among many other things. unfortunately i've been swamped with work and haven't had much time to work on it lately. too much tuning lol. it'll come when i get some free time though. there's not a whole lot left to do.

the cool thing is it will allow you to say 'i have foo, bar, and baz installed on my car... what rom do i need?' and get back a stack ranked list of compatible roms. also has a maf scaling tool, ve calculator, injector scaling tool, etc. basically moving from spreadsheets to 'here's my rom, here's my log... do it' lol.

this stuff is all deterministic. computers are way better at this than we are, once you show them how to do it properly. no more copy paste errors lol.
