One brand new from Subaru Online Parts for about $500. They always nail me at the border of course with a nice 13% tax. So give or take some cash.

Then one used off eBay from a wrecked BRZ (only around $300!). I've only ever ordered 2 big electronic things like this from eBay and both times it has worked out. But you never know and my personal recommendation, never order something that could be faked like a pair of sunglasses. Personal experience.

The used one needed a polish from a local tint shop. Now it's indistinguishable which is the new one. All in all it's about $1000 job. I don't know about you guys, but there were zero local shops that would do something like this. So you're probably on your own for installation.

After several cars. My conclusion is I can't get a perfect DIY baking or tinting job on my vehicle lights. It just doesn't turn out perfect or last the test of weather/time. My 2 cents.

There's lots more, but I'll save that for a journal at some point. When I purchased the car, there were a few spots that needed attention. So I went to town purchasing some parts from the BRZ that I thought were a better design. The anntenna had to go along with the 86 boxer logo. I LOVE the 86 logo, but that small plastic piece is just not premium enough for the vehicle I'm trying to build.

Most of my mod installations came with information from this site. Along with some logical problem solving, this site is an insane resource. So now it's time to pay it forward and become a member.

I'm not knocking you for doing this, I think it's pretty cool. Just out of curiosity though, wouldn't it have been cheaper and less of a headache to just buy a BRZ?

@636, did you black out the new headlights also, or is it just the light?

@Ciaran Mk1, I'd love to have that steering wheel horn in the US

You and me both. I like the thin style of the LED boomerang. It's more updated in my eyes. The DRLs are still the turn signals. In the first position, you have turn signal DRLs along with the boomerang LED. If I wanted to, I could move the turn signals into the headlights where they belong. For now, I don't really mind that the turn signal inside the BRZ light is just a dummy.

In terms of how hard to wire - I would recommend those diagrams. On this site, there are a few posts that will tell you exactly what each colour is on the harnesses. Watch a few DIY videos on re-pinning electronics. As it was new to me. I hope this helps? If you want, PM me for further details. That way I'm not hijacking this Whiteout thread.

I probably have a million answers for this. A whiteout FR-S was available at the time, so I jumped on it. I don't like the BRZ stock wing and the holes it will leave me with. I don't need the stereo, just these sweet aesthetic mods. Aaaaaaaand finally....... Because no one purchases these cars knowing full well their final intentions with it. That's the culture.

She's beautiful man. Is it away for the winter?

Good choice on the side skirt. That is absolutely missing from the car.
