Hand/DIY car washes on long island? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

When i pop into PA or OH i always see those car wash places that you just go in and wash your car your self. Never seen one in Long Island, do any exsit?

We closed the water for the winter so basically i'm out of option for getting my car washed, i refuse to go to run of the mill car washes because...well i'm sure you all know reasons why.

The other option is to go to a deatiler but i don't really wanna lay down a lot of $$$ when the car will just get dirty in 4 days or next time it rains/snows.

Anyone?

Do you guys have Splash Car Washes there?? They hand wash. I go there during winter.

I know there's a hand car wash on the corner of 347 & Southern Blvd on the island I've been to before. Not DIY though.

Another option if you're low on water is the Garry Dean car wash method. Lots of threads about it on these forums and youtube videos if you want to give it a search.

Riverhead Toyota has a handwash car wash. Absolute detailing . It's an outside company that is located in the dealership they do a bunch things. It's hand washed. They also do ozone scent removing. Windshield strips ext..... Couple guys on here get they're cars washed from them. They will take care of you

Guessing bad experience with them?. The car wash took care of me. Especially with the salt and stuff and the cold weather they do a decent job for the price.

There is a new hand wash on ocean ave and Merrick rd in rockville centre. It has like a wide moving floor / conveyor belt. No metal guide rail to scratch rims or too high for low cars. Low car friendly. I had to tell them to touch up my wheels twice they didn't do the best job cleaning the spokes.

man I'd go to the one down the street, but the nozzles don't operate under freezing temps

yea they don't do a good job

but Strebels in Westhampton Beach is the best imo

I usually self-wash at couple of BP stations on Queens blvd in Woodside but they shut down the self-wash in the winter.

Willing to make the drive out to any self-wash in L.I.
