Just ordered my radiator, fans, hoses, and shroud, along with the FBM Oil Cooler that are getting installed with my FBM Turbo Kit on Wednesday! I can't wait!

My FB shroud, fans, revised downpipe, and FB radiator are going in on Monday as well!

I'll install an oil cooler in a bit. I have to sell my Robispec Radiator/oil cooler to pay for the oil cooler.

Are you planning on adding this as an option to the base turbo kit?

In my opinion, on the street, I'd say so. For race purposes, Robi's makes sense. Mixing oil and coolant just sounds like a bad idea outside of a purpose built car.

Yes, it will be an option for all of our kits.

I don't think the oil/water cooler like the Robispec is a bad idea at all. Millions of OEM cars have similar dual purpose radiators. I think as long as it's built well, it's actually a better, more compact solution. Less to buy, less to mount, less to go wrong, more effective.
For NA cars or bottom-mount turbos, I still think the Robispec is best product for both coolant and oil cooling.

Unfortunately the Robispec is much thicker than stock, and moved the fans back and killed what little clearance is there, causing my fans to melt.

Going with all Full Blown stuff now, as it's proven to all work together.

When I can afford it, I'm getting the FB oil cooler kit ASAP

That's true, but Robi also isn't an OEM, or anyone else here. OEMs have the money and quality control that you really can't find in the aftermarket. Even a small leak could be pretty bad.

That's true, but a small hole in anything can be bad. Element Tuning's car caught on fire because of a pinhole leak in the radiator, causing a blowup.

Cold oil is bad too dont forget. Integrated coolers bring oil temps up faster and those of us in cold climates with a separate oil cooler would never get up to temp.

Why not mount this fan kit on robispec?
All you need is a slimmer setup. Few cm shall do the job.

No way the Robispec was going to work. It shifted the fans back towards the engine. The FB kit already comes with slim fans because there's very little clearance, and with the Robi, the back of the fans were literally 1mm from the downpipe, and 1/2'' from the header collector.
The FB slim fans both died on the dyno within a few minutes.

Even slimmer fans would still be too close as things were with the Robi.

The FB radiator is designed so the clearance is the same as stock, the thicker portion is forward, and with the extra clearance from that, and the revised downpipe, I should be good to go. My clearance and overheating probs should be gone, especially now with the better Spal fans and shroud.
