Comments: #6 on the list, so I was told mine would arrive w/ the first allocation! Guaranteed @ MSRP or below. :happy0180: Cheers to blueBRZ for getting me in touch a very cool sales guy.

Out of a dozen cars this will be my first one that's not German. i figured it was time for something new. So I thought the BRZ would be a great place to start

Comments: 6th in line out of 9. $500 deposit. Dealer wouldn't give me a price, but had told me it would be in the "mid-20's" which I would assume means MSRP. Should I try another dealer or is that a bad thing to do? I'd just really like to get my car this year. 15 years is a long time to have any car even if it is an Accord.

Without an agreement to MSRP, expect a markup. I would call the salesperson and let him know you wont pay a markup and that if they do markup the price at the last minute that you will submit a negative review on NASIOC. They have a vendor account on NASIOC and it would be bad publicity for them.

Comments: Went to dealer today. They said I was the first person trying to order a BRZ from their dealership. Was told they sold 6 STIs last year. Told the salesman that I was willing to pay MSRP. Salesman agreed and went to sales manager who came out to explain that they did not know their allocation, did not think they can just order what they want, will have to accept what they get. Understood the "sold order" system, but doubted he would get exactly what he ordered. Could not sign a contract because of that. Will probably have a market adjusted price because of limited availability. Instead offered a "1st right of refusal" w/ fully refundable $500 deposit. I accepted. So, bottom line, I get to buy the first one he gets if I want it at his price. Told him I didn't like it, but understood. I asked him why he doesn't know allocation when other dealers across the country do. He explained that Subaru of New England, owned by Ernie Boch Jr. controls distribution to all 60 Subaru dealerships in New England. Googled it when I got home and found this:

So I now understand where he is coming from. All in all, it was a decent experience, I felt I was treated as an adult, only I didn't get the answer I wanted. Time will tell how this plays out.

That looks like a huge load of to me. Personally I would find a dealer outside of this guys stranglehold and buy from them even if it required a bit of a road trip to get there.

It's not BS, at least not the part about SNE being on a separate distribution from the rest of the country. That has always been the case as far as I know. I would just go to a different dealer, Patrick Subaru didn't give me any problems so far. Did you get the sheet saying your oder has been submited?

I was referring to the court ruling being Since it's obviously gone through the legal system there's not much the New England customers can do other than shop outside of the network that's affected by the ruling.
