Pioneer AVHX8500BHS - Wiring harness

I am trying to install a Pioneer AVHX8500BHS on my FR-S, but I am having issues with the wiring.

I have purchased the Metra 70-1761 and I'm looking for the instructions that explain how to connect the different cables.

I was trying to follow this chart (http://www.installdr.com/harnesses/toyota-wiring.asp), but the colors of the cables are different.

Not sure if I'm looking at the wrong instructions or if I'm going crazy... Any suggestions?

Having not pulled a factory radio out of these cars, there is sometimes a wiring diagram glued to the factory radio. If not, I'd look in the electronics forums. Maybe Crutchfield sells a harness?

If you look hard at the wires, they have their functions printed on the wires.

The Metra harness does have the functions printed on the wires. My problem is the harness that came with the stereo. It looks pretty much like this: http://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/112...e_Harness_.jpg

A couple of wires do have a tag with the function on it, but most of them don't...

Read the manual that came with your head unit. I've done quite a few installs, and usually the colors - even if they don't match perfectly - are pretty close, and if you are in doubt, you can just check the manual.

Found the instructions in the manual! Thank you! Not sure why they put them on page 24 after basically explaining how the whole head unit works. Shouldn't they be on page 1?!

JVC puts them on the back of the box for at least of couple of their units that I've installed. Pretty good practice if you ask me. :P

Usually, wiring & connection directions are printed in a separate fold-out sheet from the HU manual, and it gives the wiring harness description, in addition to other important information.

I figured out how to connect most of the wires. Now I'm left with a couple of questions:

1) The light green parking wire from the Pioneer unit comes with a red lead that says "0.5 AMP 0.85". I would like to connect that wire to the green wire from the brake bypass (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...LL._SY300_.jpg). Should I remove the red lead and connect the wires? Or should I keep the red lead and connect the green wire from the bypass to the lead?

2) I have connected the blue wire from the Scosche LSAAB power antenna adapter (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/pictu...&picture_id=-1) to the blue antenna wire from the Metra harness.

I figured that either the black or white plug connects to the harness coming from the car... but what to do with the remaining plug?
