To the OP: It really depends on what direction you want to take it in. Lots of people just mod in every/any direction just for the sake of changing things on their car. Do you want to make it more of a touring car, a fast street car, or a stripped out racer?

Knowing where you want the end result to be can help to make a much more uniform look and feel to your car, even if it takes years to get there.
At this point, when I turn my head, I don't have any noise from the rear. In fact, engine noise is no 80-90% of what I hear when driving.

I can't wait to do the doors, floor and firewall.

Awesome, I am excited to get the rest done then. I spend a lot of time on the highway for hours at a time so I really want to cut down on road noise. Most of the noise I have been able to notice is definitly coming from the rear of the vehicle. Although the doors will be my next target, I think that is the next worst victim.

The extra weight is not much of a concern as I'll only be tracking a couple times a year.

Yup, I would agree with that. Took my stock vehicle over to Shiv at Vishnu yesterday and bought the Open Flash Tablet. They are great folks and help out users here on the forums a lot. There is a noticeable difference and the torque dip is not nearly as pronounced any more. Wanting to pick up a drop in air filter this afternoon to complement it.

Welcome to FT86Club!

I think a cool inexpensive mod is the frameless rearview mirror.

I'd say make a prioritized list of what you want from/on your car.

I did and it determined my mods and how I got them (some were even free just took time for me to do them).
  1. Nice exhaust note - bought a perrin exhaust
  2. Hated daytime running lamps - found free DIY mod to turn them off
  3. Keep heat out of my car - tinted windows
  4. Light wheels I can put wider tires on (eventually) - Enkei wheels purchased
  5. Did not like cloth seats - picked up some SARD seat covers, dramatically improved seat and interior look
  6. Thought the car needed more distinction - removed badges, put in 86 plaque in center console change holder, put in 86er shift knob

In no particular order, you should do:

- underglow lights
- side pipes
- LS1 swap
- extra jdm
- eggs, flour, butter

I see EVERYONE talking major mods and tunes(not necessarily in this thread) but what about warranty? I would love to tune but would hate to have a powertrain failure and have the dealer blame it on Ecu flash

More power better sound. I don't want no turbo right now but just to add exhaust and header than later tune it
