If your dealer keeps replacing the taillights they are doing it wrong. The problem isn't the taillights unless they've actually cracked...read the revised TSB...the dealer has to fix the bent taillight mounting points and install an updated gasket and updated retaining nuts.

If they do it "right" they won't leak again. Don't drill holes...

After applying a second line of weather adhevise i now have the water back in my taillights.

I will try to put both the aftermarket and OEM foam, if not then i'll go back to the dealership...

Anytime I get water in mine I just pull them out... they are held by 4 nuts... I pull the light bulbs out, put a hair dryer on it and the water evaporates out... I did discover that water pools around one of the plastic light bulbs which isn't sealed and I got water in that way... I took some putty-like material my dad gave me and wrapped it around the light and sealed it... I haven't had water in it ever since and it's been through several heavy storms as of late.

My condensation is gone after I drilled small (1.5mm) holes in the tail light.
I had fishbowl tail lights until I did this... after one day in the hot sun, all the condensation cleared up.

I've done this on previous cars with great success and no problems.
The amount of water that I got to drain out of the tail light was rediculous.

When I get more time I may seal the hole back up with black RTV and try to seal the tails properly... but I don't see that happening

Oh, but the OE lights also look like ricer lights escaped from the nineties. Full red aftermarkets like Toms and Crystal Eye look more behaved IMHO.

Anyhow, thanks for this thread, will be drilling a small hole at the bottom, seems like a more robust solution than trying to forever perfectly seal those taillights...

Clear Toms on a BRZ look like that's how it should've come from the factory. If you have problems with tail light condensation, I have a pair that have no condensation issues that I wouldn't mind selling.

Where did you drill the hole on yours? Into the clear plastic, or into the back portion?

Why else would you drill a hole in your taillights? Extra 25HP?
