I might be able to rent you one of our lifts over the weekend for pretty cheap. Would you need some tools too? Or will you be providing yours?

Wow that would be incredible. Still waiting for some parts to arrive - might be a couple weeks. I was planning on coming over to do a baseline pull once the roads clear up a bit - the BRZ is hibernating presently.

As far as tools go i'm fully equipped. If you don't mind i'll send you a PM when I'm prepared to see if we can work out a deal. I haven't been over to the new shop yet - would love to check it out.

No problem man. Shoot me a PM when you get all of your parts, and when the weather is more cooperative. We can set up a Saturday/Sunday to play with some cars

GD Ian, if you guys are willing to rent out a lift for a bit on a weekend, I am surely in. I need to get my Front-pipe and header in soon

They were pretty easy to do. Make sure you get a pass-through Ratchet before you start tearing the car apart. You need it to remove the top hat if you're using spring compressors. It's a little trixy to do, trying to hold the allen wrench while you loosten the top hat nut. Trust me, I learned this the hard way..

Make sure you don't allow the top half of the strut to rotate, you will likely ruin the seals and lose strut compression.

Count me in, most definitely. Always easier to work with more hands.

Maybe once the weather starts cooperating, we can plan a meet and spend the day at the shop, order some pizzas and such. I think it could be fun!

For reference here are two threads that i found to be most informative if you're doing strings or struts.

..and some other good relevant tips here as well:

A simpler spring/strut install DIY -- no compressor needed
