Exhaust Advice

I currently have the Invidia N1 catback, and catless resonated front pipe. I love the deep rumble of the exhaust and just want it a little louder. I was thinking of doing the new invidia over pipe next, will that have a great effect on sound? Or should I save up and replace the header?

Overpipe won't make it louder too much, just helps with making the flow better from the header. The header will really increase the volume. I'm trying the N1 with my JDL UEL and Invidia catted front pipe soon. I like loud, but not raspy. There's a lot to combining pieces to get the tone right. Not sure how a resonated front pipe vs a catted front pipe affects the sound.

I currently have the Q300 and it's really tame, but sounds awesome with absolutely 0 drone. I'll probably hang onto it.

Thanks for the help, if I do replace the header will it void the warranty? Or is it only voided with a tune?

When you replace the header, you'll most likely throw a CEL. At that point, you need to start tuning, otherwise you're leaving a lot of performance out of your exhaust.

Aren't there o2 spacers to fix that?

They don't work 100% of the time. Unless you can successfully trick the ECU, it won't throw it, but I've seen it not work more times than work. Catted headers even sometimes throw CEL's due to the high flow cats.

I wouldn't mind tuning, but isn't it extremely expensive?

Something like the openflash tablet is under $500. Depends on how you want to tune it really. Dyno tuning can be pricey.

I would stay with the stock header until you can budget out enough for a tune + the header at the same time. You'll be happy you did.

I guess I'll go with the overpipe then save for the header. Last question, would something like ft86speedfactory catted UEL be okay without a tune until I saved up for the tune?

Possibly, you may want to reach out to them on that one. They'll probably recommend a tune, but it might be able to run on stock with no CEL. That would be something that would have to be tested.

sounds like a cheap fix would be to get a catless non-resonated front pipe or fp/op combo.
