Nerf sportcars attract douchebaggery the way Chrysler 300s attract wanna-be ballaz.

There was a time in this country when everyone was courteous and considerate. It was normal when coming up fast behind a slower car to flash your lights so they would know someone was coming up. They'd move over and you'd go by, giving a little thank you wave as you did so. The entitled "me first" attitude that pervades society these days is responsible for so many drivers that think it's somehow an insult to expect them to yield the lane to faster moving traffic. No one has any concern for the driver in the other car beyond getting by them and avoiding hitting them. How many times have you been at a red light and not made it through when it went green simply because the asshat at the front of the line took his/her own sweet time getting going, with no thought for all the people behind them that might like to get through the light? No consideration anymore.
To be honest though, sometimes it is hard to move over because the traffic is simply too heavy. I'm not going to stand on the gas and risk a ticket or an accident because the guy coming up behind wants to do 20 mph faster than everyone else is doing.

Don't forget about the complaints about the lack of power in the car and how it isn't "fair" that they can't smoke corvettes and that they shouldn't have to turbo/supercharge to make 400+ hp.

I try to not lump groups of people together, I like to use Germany circa 1940's to justify that reasoning.

One dbag was going 65ish in the left lane on a 70mph freeway and would not move over. I had to go around him on the right. Turned past an FRS that chose not to gun a yellow light today. Very civil of him not to given the minivan to his left did.

I reiterate, there are a LOT more douchebag cars out there - BMWs are the worst. One guy gave a manager and I the finger because we honked at him. Why did we honk at him? We were in the middle lane of the 401 and he was in front of us, decides to hit the brakes while doing 110km/hr and then drop to 70km/hr to cut across two lanes to get an exit. Everyone else was doing 120km/hr and as he got closer and closer, he got SLOWER AND SLOWER. I was scare shitless and thought we were gonna get rear ended!

Figures if you drive an M3 you would gun it no?

I occasionally turn into a douchebag driver when people go less than the posted speed limit. I become so angry when that happens. It feels like a snail's pace especially when I usually go 10km/hr over the posted speed limit. My drive to work is almost entirely a single lane with the exception of a roundabout. And as much as it is fun whipping through the roundabout and using it as a passing opportunity, why must anyone go less than the posted limit? I am thinking douchebag. Don't bring douchebaggery unless you want douchebaggery.

Wow so many angry drivers here. The thing is, when you're an angry driver, you become a horrible and dangerous driver, thus becoming the very person that you got mad at to begin with.

Why get angry? A quick trip compared to a trip full of slowpokes lagging you is only going to save you minimal time. It's pointless.

Why not enjoy the drive for what it is?

So.. I think you mean u guys almost rear ended him, not you get rear ended.
Yeah, his fault for not realizing his exit was right there. But he could've been following his passengers directions, who just noticed the exit. Again, his fault, but I hardly find this to be a supreme act of douchebaggery on him. So what if he hits the brakes? People hit the brakes before they turn, are they all douchebags? If he sped up and then got off, he probably wouldn't have made the exit, or gotten into a crash. As he got closer he got slower? Well yeah. He's braking isn't he? It's your job to not get closer and closer. It would've been 100% your fault if you hit him.

Rant time:

Yes, the burden is still on you to maintain a safe distance behind, no matter how stupidly the person in front of you is driving.

That being said, slowing down to speeds below the flow of traffic just to make an exit that you almost missed is discourteous and foolish. I almost got caught in a pile up one time just because some dumbass lady in a Taurus stopped diagonally across the exit divider, just to make her exit. Honestly, if you miss your exit, tough luck. Take the next one and double back. What makes you think you have the right to stop in the middle of the freeway and risk a multi-car accident just to save your slow ass an extra 2 minutes???

Going at less than half the speed of traffic flow on one of the major highways in Canada is an endangerment to the public. Did you even read my post? And yes, I was afraid of BEING rear ended and not rear ending him.
