It snowed like crazy here, several inches of snow covering the driveway and almost no roads visible on the way to work (though luckily no standing inches covering the roads, just a bit of snow and slush.) and I just backed down and out of my driveway easy, got to work about 30 minutes late because of slow driving. Snows tires are conquering this particularly evil winter.

Yup, was on stock tires...

Why do people insist on driving in the snow with stock? Than blame the car or the garbage prius tires...

Relocate to my neighborhood? I may not be a 16yr old girl but I can look like a 17yr old boy completely shaven. If it'll tug your heart strings enough to let me go I can probably force a tear or two ; I'd call it worth the shave. As it stands though I've only been let go once and it was because I was having a nose bleed .

People are cheap. People want to save money. Well if you don't protect in your investment then you're gambling most of your money away with sub-par tires in snowy winter shitty conditions. Just get dedicated snow tire for your car just to be safe.

I think my dad's tired of listening to me brag about my winter tires...

Edit: To be fair though, I was one of those cheap people. I really don't have that kind of money to just spend on tires (I did buy them, of course.) but I knew this winter wouldn't be very nice. I've never spent that kind of money on something that wasn't electronic (TV, computer, gaming system) my whole life.

I guess it depends on how big the city you're coming from. Maybe all the traffic is an example since it would mean people would be stuck in grid lock or drive slow due to that. Usually there are more cars out on the road in bigger cities so maybe snow doesn't stick around that long. Or maybe a big storm comes by and everyone is like fuck it, I'm staying home.... or the car is packed nicely because of the helpful street plowing. Hehe, "thanks for clearing the street and trapping my car with shit load of snow."

I'd honestly say they're almost unnecessary in the city. The city salts the roads so fiercely they're bone dry unless we're in the midst of a blizzard. Then again, salt only works till a certain temperature... so maybe they aren't so unnecessary. *shrug*

Most we ever deal with is copious amounts of disgusting brownish/black slush

Ah, holy crap cutting it close. The lady I cover for at work is taking Thursday and Friday off this week. Meanwhile a job I applied for (and almost missed out on because my spam filter kept me from seeing the email for three days) has emailed me back and are still willing to let me come in, but they want me in this week. Can't do Thursday or Friday, only have tomorrow.

I don't even have confirmation from the job that they have time slots tomorrow, but I've already emailed my boss about my little brother being sick and needing tomorrow off to watch him, and gotten the okay for it. I hate lying and cutting it close like this...
