Get some wider tires and you will find that in rain/snow it flings all sorts of crap up on the fenders etc. especially during a turn. It should also protect the rear bumper area from getting sandblasted by pebbles/rocks/salt

That being said I don't have them but have realized why they are useful and have considered a set that looked subtle

Keeps salt off of my side windows and stops a lot of snow from getting stuck under the doorsills.

It's both, really. It snowed a lot this winter here, and on warm days, all that snow starts to melt and all we get is just dirty, slushy, snowy mud flying around all over and landing on cars.

So much that I have to fill up my windshield washer fluid every other day because it all runs out. You're basically using it every few seconds.

This guy. I installed mine halfway through winter. I could immediately tell the difference afterwards, especially with things like salt and wet leaves.

Ordered the Rally Armor mudflaps myself! There's always so much construction in my area(so very annoying) and I work in an oil refinery. So, both things have lots of mud, dirt and rocks on the road. Gotta protect the paint!
