They said we would have to reconfirm when pricing comes out. I would think only people who reconfirmed pricing would be going, but we haven't had to do that yet.

That's correct. You are not committed to purchase until after the test drive just like any other car. The deposit is refundable right up until you tell your dealer "give me the keys, I'm headed to the track!"

I have every intention of buying the car, otherwise I wouldn't have put down the deposit. That doesn't mean I WILL buy the car. As you mention, lots go into that and at 25K+- there are lots of things to consider. For example, I'm relatively short at 5'7" but have broad shoulders for my height. The wings on the seats may not be wide enough for me. If its not comfortable, its a deal breaker for me.

Also, the final price (out the door), fuel economy, ergonomics of the equipment all matter.

That said, nothing I've read says I won't be buying the car. I'm probably at a 95% probability.

I do think that if you are in the First 86 and are at less than 75% probability it would be the "right thing to do" to give up your spot to a standby before the SoCal trip. I won't hate you if you don't, its just what I would do.

im sure no one here will buy it without test driving, even if they are the first 86. There are too many unanswered questions about this car so far

i dont think that will happen for the sole reason that its 86 people in a factory. I dont know how that will work.

I'm really not sure what I'll be doing. Do I really really really want the car? Yes. Should I get the car? I don't know. Originally, I was hoping that the back seats will be semi-functional, but I keep hearing that they aren't. So, who knows. I'll be seeing the BRZ at the Cleveland Auto Show today, so that should help make up my mind

throwing in a test drive at the factory can't count as the test drive in the contract unless its the actual car i'll be taking home (my opinion) so i doubt they will pull that off in order to secure our purchases and have us sign

The main factor keeping some of us at 75% is probably that pricing hasnt been announced, so hopefully they do that soon enough that decisions can be made. At this point though, I doubt they will pull people off the waiting list...if some of the 86 say no it'll just be whoever's left...and the rest of the cars will go to the markets they had the most response from
