A year ago, people were making this exact same thread asking about a different engine for the 2014 model, and look what changed: you now get knee pads. Both Toyota and Subaru have made official announcements that they have no desire to add power to the AS1 platform. They always said "it would upset the balance of the car". Whether or not that's true can be argued, but it's what they believe. Maybe in another 5 years, when they make the next generation of this car, they will add power, but who knows how much heavier it will have to be then? |

![]() That is probably one of the issues...that's why i necroposted in an old thread yesterday instead of starting a new one ![]() Seriously though it's obvious this is what is holding some people back. For me it's about that window...my purchase window...i can wait to hear what 2015 brings and if worthy just wait. If not, then most likely i will pick up a '14. And if 2016 comes the power well then it just wasn't in my purchasing window. |

My FRS is my 422nd vehicle. Now 110 of those were motorcycles. That said, make your own decisions and do what you like if it makes you happy and you can afford to do it and don't worry about what others think. I have made lots of money buying and selling over the years and have lost some too but have had a ball and had a lot of vehicles that others wish they could have even driven. Looking back over the last 45 years I wouldn't have done anything different except maybe keep a few of those that I regret selling and are worth a small fortune today. By the way, the FRS is probably the most economical sports car I have ever owned. LOTS of bang for the buck.

I don't know why you're catching all this crap. Just buy a FRS that you want, the sky is the limit for what power you want to make depending on cost. Drive it and be happy.

There are some seriously stupid people popping up in this thread. I know @yomny personally and all these comments about how often he changes cars are simply misguided. If someone has the means to change cars that often so they can experience the choices that are out there, you automatically label that person as indecisive or clueless? He's asking you a simple question:
If you were in the market for an FR-S, would you buy now or wait until the summer when they announce whatever new changes are happening to the 2015? Sources would also be helpful. |
