Show Us Your Back Road
Let's be honest, we all have that one favorite road that we know we can hit when you just need a release. Post up a video of that road for us to show what you've got.
I am lucky enough to have two really good ones within 30 minutes of home. This is Route 44/55 in the Shawangunk region of NY by New Paltz. That first hairpin sweeps to just shy of 180 degrees going up hill. That really throws the suspension around in a good way. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afLESIc2fnY"]Route 44/55 in New Paltz/Gardiner, NY - YouTube[/ame] The other one is 9W just north of Bear Mountain. This isn't the greatest video, and anyone who has driven either of these roads can attest that the videos don't do them justice. [ame]http://youtu.be/YW5OtwVChjQ?t=4m36s[/ame] So, Post what you have. I am sure the CA guys have some nice canyon videos. Edit: I just found a more exciting run of the first road headed in the reverse direction. 6:30 - 7:15 is a fun section. Looks like a fun road that I sadly would never find fun. It looks to fast to enjoy. I know some others will do 125+ on public byways but I can only justify going so fast. The slowest corner that I saw was suggested 20 with the Chevrons saying it isn't too bad and I am positive 50 would feel slow around that.

Great topic and vids!
![]() We're pretty blessed in NorCal to have a lot of great roads to drive on. My favorite back road is about 25 min away and runs for about 70 miles up and over Mt. Hamilton. So you can literally spend hours out there venturing into the middle of nowhere. [ame]http://youtu.be/4CBNhz_Gv1I[/ame] A little further away, about 40 min from me is Hwy 84 (same road that @ posted a moto video for) -- one of the smoothest and nicest drives in the Bay Area. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYeMMkQIToQ"]May 25, 2013: NorCal 86 DRIVE: Hwy 84 to Alice's - YouTube[/ame] Very close to me, about 10 min away is Redwood Rd, always good for a short fun blast through the East Bay hills. Road condition is not as nice as the others but it's so close by, so I take this route all the time when I just need a quick fix. With some of the other roads connecting to it I can get a nice little drive in under an hour's time. [ame]http://youtu.be/1NIKT6Er3dU[/ame]
