Got a call back from New Town Toyota today. I was told that my order had been put in and was due to be built in May hopefully for a June delivery (I'm expecting mid to late June). Still no news on pricing though. I'm going to pay him a visit sometime this week, probably tomorrow just for a chat.

He also mentioned that 8 had been pre-ordered from their dealership. Any news on other numbers from other dealers??

went to syd city toyota and talked to a salesman there and he was saying toyota was only going to release 2 cars per month for each dealer, so if i wanted to order i'd be getting it in the third month of release but I'm not looking to buy this year anymore i just asked if i could come in for test drive when it came out, they will be getting 3 in the first month 2 customer cars and 1 demo.

I'd say it's their dodgy salespeople making stuff up to try and make you buy a car/put a deposit on the spot.

maybe but if its true that means a long wait for people who are lower than fourth on the list. i told him i wasnt looking to buy till halfay through next year the earliest so he knew i wasnt trying to be one of the first to have one, but i dont know

LOL! probably one of them is mine. i remember when i went into sydney city the guy is like "you're the second person that want's to throw in a deposit, no worries, lets talk in my office. *walks into office sits on squeaky leather chairs* so, you know how the 86 looks like and what it's features are and all?"

me:yeah i know, 200hp flat 4 aka boxer engine, high spec and low spec.

dealer: wow, you know more then me! hahaha! ok, here is what we're gonna do... *opens up a form on the PC* at the moment we don't have the 86 on the database because its not out yet, obviously, so i'll drop it down as a Corolla and put it in the notes for an 86.

he went rambling on about the paint and stuff. I then asked him if i do go for the car when will it arrive and stuff... his like "there will be 3 cars in June as Demos one black auto high spec, one manual, low spec, white and a high spec orange, manual. You can come in then and give these cars a test drive if you're satisfied we can take an order on the spot and it'll arrive around late july or early august"

How long ago was that? Because when I ordered mine it was in the database, and I was told if I ordered then (Early march), I would make cutoff for July/August delivery, otherwise I would have to wait for September.

I pretty much did this ^^ last December, car on our order forms a corolla also... I've only had one call in between!

I've pretty much stop caring about it though tbh... I'll be in Vegas when its released here anyways.. so fuck it, I'll deal with it when I get back home! Hope they got a demo for me to thrash then I'll concrete my order as long as the price is acceptable!

i ordered mine early Feb. Never called them back since. But will buzz them closer to the date, maybe a month before. Just to see if they changed the story from what they told me before, which is highly likely. LOL!

I'm pretty sure they'll still have the Demos when you're back unless they are out of stock and down to the last 3 demos to sell.

Yup! I'm in the same boat. It'll either be "DEAL!" or "i want my money back" and if the price is a tad over my limit i'll give it a go and ask "any lower?" if i get "no...sorry..." i'll just find my way out the door lol!

Hi guys, I am just starting with Peter Warren Toyota and at this time we do still have a few cars available in the first batch. I put up a post in the commercial section of the forums as well as how to contact me if you want to pre-order one.

Some dealerships have been allocated more than others which is pretty much how it always is with new models. As for how many more we're going to get on a monthly basis, there are a number of factors that have to be taken into account such as production lead time, actual buyer demand (not projected demand), freight scheduling, etc.
