Hahaha ok guys sorry I didn't mean for this to turn into a vouch-fest.
But thank you all for your trust in me LOL. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

if any of you have never driven Thill before, check out this primer very useful to learn and analyze the track turn-by-turn, a little pre-visualization homework if you are into that sort of thing. Don't memorize the whole thing beforehand, but I think it's helpful to read through it, then drive the track, and then maybe go back afterwards and reread it once you've actually experienced the track. Great pointers in case you find you are having trouble with a particular corner or want to know the best way through it. Note you should read through it as if you are doing the Long course, and this version includes the Cyclone - that is the configuration NCRC will run on Feb. 7th.

About PMok, I've left my car running, windows down, and he didn't steal it. So yeah, I trust him.

Personally, in the past, I've kept my valuables at home. Bring just the necessities. A clear conscience on the track is worth it's weight in gold so if your worried about thievery or PMok taking your shiet, leave it at home. I also would not ask my non-driving/visiting friend to watch my stuff. Sorry, don't care if your BFF or not, would rather you drive with me than babysit OPPs.

Edit: come to think of it, of all the times I've been on the track (bike and car) someone always stayed behind in the pits. Either different class or sitting out the session. Has this never happened to this 86 community?

Also, I like to have my laptop with me to pull GoPro footage, Harry's Lap Timer footage, etc. Is there a place at the facility for storing things while on the track (bags, spare tire, etc.)?
Can I give you a small piece of advice? Leave the lap timer at home. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this sounds like your first track day. The last thing you'll need is a lap timer. It will only serve to disappoint you and distract you. Combine that with a less than adequate 'driving school' that NCRC does, and it's a recipe for trouble (don't get me wrong, NCRC is a great group, but I find their DS inadequate and solo groups dangerous).

Your first day is about learning what the flags are, where the flag stations are, keeping an eye open for flag stations, learning what the line should be, and learning the proper way to drive around a road course. That can't be done in a day, so it's information overload right from the start. The lap timer serves no purpose at this stage. Many organizations don't allow them in beginner groups. You can time your video after the end of the day just to satisfy your curiosity.

Garage
I just drove an Audi R8 around the Exotic Racing track a few times today in Las Vegas. I think I'm ready to track my FR-S now . For what it's worth, sure it was fast, but I still like driving the tight winding roads with my FR-S more. Also, when I sat in the Ferraris and Lambos, I just didn't get the "aww".. the kind of feeling you get as a kid on Christmas. It was just some plastic and plasticy looking carbon fiber. Again, I had more "aww" when I first got my car. I didn't believe I actually owned it for a few days.

Hope to see you guys and gals at the track soon. I miss my car.. coming back Sunday.

For those going to t hill on Jan 18th...I'd love to ride along with an experienced driver to learn the lines/track before I have my first official track day...Anyone going or would be comfortable enough to let me be passenger?
