I thought I preferred a key before, but now I don't. I like not having a key. Push start is pretty cool too.

My favorite thing is the automatic door opener when you put your hand on the handle. Makes it a lot easier if you're carrying shit etc.

Nope, .... when I was a kid, back on the farm, all of our tractors had push button start, except the ones you had to crank; cars had key start ..... I couldn't hardly wait till I was 16 ..... so I could "key start" ......

My Grandfathers farm pickup truck had a button start. I even seem to remember seeing a starter button (different vehicle) that was on the floor. Anyone also remember the hi-low beam switch being on the floor like my 64 Ford Falcon?

Yep, the headlight dimmer was on the floor, just above and to the left of the clutch. The starter was a pedal, up and to the right of the gas pedal. The choke was hooked to a cable that you pulled from the dash.

NO ..... I didn't have to "set the spark" or "crank it" to start .... or kick the mechanical brakes to break them lose .... whatta think, ...... I'm old or something ....

Don't laugh at my port-a-walls .....

Oh the memories! My '68 Volvo 123 GT, my mom's 122, my dad's '72 Firebird and later my CJ5. I miss those cars. I was too young to drive the Firebird but the volvos waited for me :-) My dad traded that Firebird for a Cutlass Supreme after only a year because my mom didn't want him drag racing anymore. Lol.

I'm in Australia and I chose automatic GTS over the base model. Price is AU$43,000 which is around $6k more than base model, mainly because:
Satnav touch screen
nicer mirror
Leather/alcantara seats
HID lights (looks wise the one with HID has better appearance)
Better looking interior and soft touch interior padding (the knobs look better too)
rear spoiler like BRZ one
Paddle shift
dual zone AC (in cars with no dual climate control, my wife keeps turning down the AC)
Heated seats
Push start button and keyless entry/lock
The inner trunk door is lined too in GTS but I don't really care whether it's lined or not.

It's our only car not weekend track car so we'd like a bit of comfort. There are literally no better value new car on the market here. You can look up new car options for 43k and you won't find a car as nicer looking, nicer to drive than 86.

I've gone through every single car brand in Australia and there is none for the price of 86 GTS.

Closest one maybe the more expensive golf gti but that thing looks so boring.

This is my reasoning behind buying a Monogram Series FR-S
First of all it's not 30k+ In fact, last time I checked the MT will sell for $27,400 + $1,100 for AT
The added doo dads are actually quite valuable. It's a 1k option just for navigation on the regular car, and it comes with the Monogram package standard. Include Heated leather seats, Heated mirrors, spoiler, Auto HVAC, push button start, keyless entry and HID headlights with LED DRL's. On top of being a 2,000 unit limited run. This is a bargain if you ask me. Plus this will be the first time the FR-S has OEM arm rest.
I will be buying a Whiteout MT Monogram and I am so very thrilled to finally get her. It's been a long wait but this the Special Edition I have been waiting for since the beginning.

Or in my case, about $1600 - figuring $25,500 for a base FRS and the $27,100 paid for my BRZ Limited.

I'd have been perfectly happy with a Premium or with an FRS, for that matter. But when the price difference is less than $2k, it's a no brainer.

I got the base FR-S for 23,000 because if I spent 28k I would have just bought a used C6 and been far more happy.
