I think ayau was referring to short shifting to get better MPG. Which I don't do.

yeah I meant 40 mph. I keep it that way so I don't attract unwanted attention and the gear indicator arrow thing tells me to upshift when I'm going 40mph in 5th gear so I just go with it

Wat. I thought you knew how to drive.

Haven't touched an FRS before but the 6th isn't very long, it should be good at a little over 30 not even 40.

Yeah, I definitely don't do that. I don't want to downshift 3 gears to pass.

But you don't have a sequential gearbox, what's wrong with a 6-2 shift? The rev matching is the fun part! I wish I had a C60 + 2ZZ so I could do a 5 gear downshift and rev the nuts off the engine.

Pro: Today I grossed the most money I have ever made in one day.

Con: I punched in at 7am, and out at midnight. I also feel like I've been hit by a truck.

The delayed gratification from not getting paid for nearly 2 weeks means I'm not psychologically associating the reward with all the crap I did today, and kinda never want to do it again...

Wishing the USA was a Meritocracy...but that would be a political discussion.

Thinking of low balling house sellers of the value to pay off my genesis, then I could own my asset and have one consolidated 30 year payment. Then if I wanted I Could finance a BRZ at 10k with trade in alone with no money out of pocket.

In either case, I know Im going to have to keep a house. This gives me the flexability of having either 1. An asset I own outright exchangeable for cash value or 2. Enough equity on a BRZ to freely trade with no money out of pocket if next model year or two incorporates any major changes.

I look at it as taking my current Genesis pay off and loan, divide the monthly payments by 4, add that to my mortgage ..not a bad deal. Especially since I would end up paying only 250 a month for a BRZ at 10k for 6 years. with the option to over pay either car or house as I see fit.

Any way you slice it ...its a major improvement over my current situation of renting and being dead even with amount owed on car, and market value. Trade in is what is killing me ...15k for an 18k car? no thanks subaru ..

That is not political. Historical, Economic, governmental discussions are fine here. One time we had a discussion of Meiji era economics.

I'm fairly certain that the real world usage of a Meritocracy has been superseded by Technocracy. The idea of government being run by skilled technical experts from each field instead of business leaders, economists, and. Which has since fallen out of favor. Herbert Hoover's reputation didn't help the movement, considering he was an engineer.

I will do a 5-2 on an on-ramp, but I'm rarely in 6th unless I'm on the highway or a 50mph or higher road.
