Which is fine with me. The FR-S and BRZ also get beat up for having spartan interiors, but I actually prefer it. When I test drove a Focus ST recently I hated how busy the interior was and how many buttons there are. I prefer simple. Which is why I like the WRX interior as well, it is just very simple.
Maybe I am just getting too old
Agreed, there's no point going overboard on the interior buttons and gadgets in a budget sports car. As far as simplicity goes, the lightweight RWD platform of the BRZ can't be beat by the heavier and more complex AWD platform of the WRX/STi (e.g., three LSDs...), which it subsequently makes up for with more TURBO POWAAAAA!!!

But yes, two completely different animals, and it depends entirely on what you want out of the car.

Yes. I needed four doors and a place to seat three kids in the back... Otherwise I would be driving a BRZ still..

If I could I most certainly would. Need to sell more and kiss the wife's ass more to make that happen. Would love a REX for winter and my BRZ for when it's nice out.

FRS/BRZ look MUCH better than the new WRX/STi.

That would be awesome as long as the price doesn't cross over 35k for the basic STi.

It would be okay if it was on the $40k limited model

I saw the spec sheet over on the WRX forums and they will only have a 6 speed STi.

On cars like these, when people complain about the stock head unit as if it could be a hindrance to buying, I laugh. You're not buying a Porsche, C7 Corvette, or a luxury vehicle. The stereo is an afterthought to the auto manufacturer, really. And most "premium audio upgrades" add an additional $2k-$3k onto the car that are normally about a $1k value for the actual good systems (like the bose). Scrap the basic factory audio & go custom. It saves money.

This new WRX is really refined from the 2010-2014. The wheels and rear end are really my only complaint. The tail-lights do not match the rest of my car. The wheels look tiny and like they belong on a Nissan Sentra. The 2.0L DIT FA20 is a great powerplant. With the improved valvetrain, cams, and higher compression from it's sibling in the Forester XT, it not only out-performs, but matches its fuel economy. Some may be against the looks of the new WRX, however subjective they may be. But this new, refined WRX will be a big seller, and will most likely (attack me) beat the BRZ/FRS around the track.

Yep. That's all.
