ST Coilover Pics

Looks like I'm joining the ST club! Unfortunately, one of my rear coils and helper spring was damaged during shipment (nice chunks taken out of the yellow powder coat)... but a quick call to ST and they overnighted new coils for me!!! Their customer service is top notch!!!

I haven't installed anything on this car without first looking for help. It all turned out to be easy but having a refrence helped make me more confident. Of course after having 15 imports in various states of tune over the last 10 years helped too.
There are so many threads of "what tire and wheel combo works with stock brakes, which works with bbk's, which coil overs ride the best, the worst, which do this that and the other. I've been reading up on lots of info here and elsewhere and emailing lots of vendors direct to get the most correct info for what I am looking for. I'm sure I could install these over a weekend but I am fresh out of laser alignment machines at my house lol. Just would be nice to have a shop around that knew their ass from a hole in the ground.

Got this reply from ST via email -

Galvanized Steel
Coming from the makers of KW suspension systems the only main difference between the ST Variant 1 and KW Variant 1 is the steel they use. While KW uses Stainless Steel for their shock housing, ST uses Galvanized Steel. However, this does not mean a drop in quality, durability, or appearance. Although coilovers that use galvanized steel are more prone to corrosion due to environmental influences (i.e. mixture of salt water); those in the lower states: California, Texas, Florida, Nevada, etc. don't have to worry about corrosion. Those in the mid to upper States that snow still don't have much to worry about as long as they do not drive in heavy snow conditions upon where salt is used on roads. to further ensure those with doubt about Galvanized Steel, ST has corrosion resistant zinc plating on all of their threaded strut housings for further protection.

Every year I head to spring training in Florida to see the Red Sox so that is a pricey trip but as soon as that is over and paid for there is a short list of a few mod's including the ST's I want to get started on. From what I can find these seem like the best bang for the buck for a decent ride and looks on a budget.

I opted camber bolts. You have to reuse oem top hats if you don't want aftermarket camber plates.

What are your ST's set at? Turns from bottom up?

I'm putting mine on this weekend and like how your stance is. I'm also running 18x8.5 +33 sq gram lights. Thanks for the help!

I think he meant stock when he said "out of the box."

You're not worried at all about driving those ST's through the salty snow?

The front is maxed out and the rear is about midway. I think you could technically take out the helper spring in the front to go lower though. I'm no expert, but it seems to me the helper springs aren't doing much of anything because they are fully compressed.

I did not adjust the perches from this before installing.
