Where to get performance parts?

Where is everyone getting their parts and upgrades for their rides here in Canada? I am being money conscience for the most part as duty and shipping and now the currency exchange adds up pretty quickly. I want to get the most for my dollar lol

Wheels and tires are okay, and why not, here are some of the parts I have in mind for the next few months

sways and links
Racecomp Tarmac 0 or equivalent but kind of sold on this setup
Camber bolts up front
UCA bushing and/or lca

Toss in the ol' strut brace from grimmspeed why not the hood struts they sent me are dope

Anyways any help would be nice even if it's "suck it up and deal with the customs"

Maybe have it all shipped to buffalo and pick it up there? Close enough destination for us GTA people

I haven't really started building yet but as far as what I've seen in the Canadian vendor section on this forum (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=75), JRP in Mississauga seems to carry some of the items that you have mentioned in your list.

JRP Catalog with price list here: http://www.jrponline.com/downloads/c...atalog2013.pdf

Everything else that I have personally been interested in seems to require shipping across the border =/

I haven't found anyone in the GTA that carries RCE yet, but JRP, Touge Tuning, Teknotik, NextMod, etc should be able to get everything else you're after.

JRP has such inflated prices. Buy from US vendors and free ship to Niagara Falls or Buffalo. Worried about customs, just ask vendor to fab you up a "revised" invoice.

JRP and other local vendors are nice despite the slightly inflated price because you can actually go pick it up in person and you don't have to even deal with shipping costs and the possible damages that can occur along the way.

best cost effective way I've figured out for us up here: buy from where everyone else gets their good deals, get it shipped to the border($2.50 each package under 49lb is what I'm paying for the mailbox service), drive down, cross and pick it up. if your lucky and your declared value isn't eye catching, you can get away with not paying anything when crossing back. but usually car parts are more than what we can bring back so be prepared to spend some time with the cbsa

dsgperformance.com is a vendor on here and are based in Canada I believe. The items that are drop shipped from the states are still taxable and may cost you some duty/brokerage but they do a really good job about giving you "all in" pricing that eliminates having a surprise bill when the UPS guy shows up at your door.

The prices are very reasonable as well

support local shops. Why is the scene so weak in Canada? because we're weak.

wparsons said it: JRP, Touge Tuning, Teknotik, NextMod, etc.

I realize the OP is from Toronto but driving to the border isn't a viable solution for everyone. I feel like there's a huge market thats relatively untapped for a quality online shop like FT86speedfactory only for us in Canada.

would love to support local but why the bloated prices from the same vendors as those in the states and elsewhere. same costs to each location yet we get reamed up here. Not weak, intelligent.

With roughly 1500 of these cars in Canada, I don't know how much of an untapped market you think there really is.

There are lots of great sources local. Just because one person finds a price high doesn't mean another person does. If you find something that is only available in the US, you have the option to drive over the border and get it. Or support local. You'll find that after taxes, gas, and your time, some parts are pretty similarly priced versus the US.

I don't expect a twin specific shop to open up, but I'm surprised more existing shops havent jumped on the opportunity to supply us with parts. JRP probably has the best inventory and they seem to be heading in the right direction. However it still pales in comparison to what is available south of the border. I'm not saying they should offer everything and at the same price, but more then 4-5 exhaust choices would be nice.

economies of scale. regulatory. lower demand. and i'm sure a host of other reasons.

Canada: 33 million
US: 330 million

Canada: small ish car scene, hockey culture, always looking for cheapest route
US: bigger car scene, car culture vibrant, likes high end product

The price difference like thatguy is say'n is true. after gas, etc. paying the duty and ship etc. sometimes the Canadian storefront retailer will get it to you cheaper.

Ask Teknotik what they can get. It may surprise you.
