The only thing I dislike about the stock clutch is where it grabs, which for me feels like almost at the top. I much prefer the way the clutch in my 90 fox, near the bottom. Just my 2 cents

And to clarify, I was talking about the Z car for when, I think it was Car & Driver, had one of their Lightning Lap competitions the Z ran off the track under braking because the brake fluid had all ready boiled over on its SECOND LAP. And I can't remember if it was their track edition or what. That was a few years ago.

So this posting is an exercise on how most folks don't scale up their brakes, most important, or clutches when modifying their cars.
Because between those two items, those were the ones i would hear about the least. Just remember you're fine with your brakes so long as you don't drive like a nut. |

Virtually all of the cars tested would suffer the same fate if they ran at a truly fast pace; they're all on stock pads and fluid. |

I mentioned this in another thread and only the other old timers will know what I'm talking about.
This car succeeds at being what the Pontiac Fiero failed at 30 years ago.

I wouldn't track the car on the stock brakes, regardless of any other mods done. Is go for the ap sprint kit and be done with it. Ill at least get pads, lines and fluid before the first time out.

I went to VIR for the first time in my life (and any track for that matter) on stock calipers, but with upgraded rotors and pads (and lines and fluid). I was having brake fade 10-15 minutes into a 30 minute session.
I assume having sticky tires, coilovers, and pushing 280whp helped with causing the fade on the back straight and turn one. I just purchased a Brembo BBK.. I would rather spend the money on brakes then potentially wreck the car or my life |
