I see some line and shape similarities from both cars, however, I also see some similar shape/lines from the Genesis Coupe and BMW 3 series (2dr) in some profile shots.

It looks like a mess of modern 2-door sports cars mashed together into 1. But it nonetheless looks pretty good at the same time - I am a bit indifferent

At the end of the day, I realistically will never end up buying one since its price tag is north of $100,000

I love it! I didn't like the front end on the IS-f as it was missing the aggressiveness that the front screams. While I for sure see the twins shiloutte in the RC couple it is different enough to make me like it. Not sure about the dash though. Awfully complex for a couple.

I think Lexus is pricing it to take on the 2014 BMW M4 which is around $65,000. The IS was quite cheaper than it's German comp here is for hoping!

There is a differences between chassis and platform.

Do you have any info on weight? If it is 1800 kg /4000 lbs, then it won't keep up against M4 on track, even if it has 480 PS. I hope it is much lighter, no more than 100 kg heavier than M4.
