If you want to blow your brain up with information @mad_sb made a huge thread about the topic that's in-depth and over my head.

Big props to him for the information he constantly puts out about tuning and our cars.

Now, back to waiting on dynos.
I may stir things, but I have no vendor affiliation (perceived or real). I'm either trolling or calling someone out on their bullshit.

Yes, let's get back to dynos.

From what i have seen, there is no torque limit table in this ecu, that has been found yet anyway (and i have spent hours pouring over the scoobyrom dump of ALL 2d and 3d tables). BRZedit has a table that was tabled WOT Torque limit but I showed in one of my early threads that it is actually the base torque value used in calculating the throttle open angle, not a torque limit of any kind.

It seems our ecu only uses the torque tables to set the min throttle open angle but it doesn't seem to care at all if the calculated torque (based on rpm and load) is greater than the requested torque. I Imagine this is because we are not boosted from the factory so there is little chance of an "over torque" condition occurring.

Other ECU's that do have torque limit tables (like the evo x) typically use the torque limit table to trigger a CEL and a limp mode if the calculated torque exceeds the torque limit table value for more than a few milliseconds. Even if we did have limit tables, they are easy to deal with.

@Ryan@Nameless
Lets get those final revision headers installed and down to the dang dyno already

My understanding is its at the Dyno with the tuner. It's taking a long time because they are doing it step by step part by part to give the most info they can.

The more info over a wide range of RPM (I want to see the dyno chart for the low, mid, and upper bands, not just mid and upper bands), the better. I'm less interested in peak torque and peak HP than I am in the tq and hp curves. I want to see those flat spots minimized or eliminated and to see a nice, linear hp curve.

There's no good reason to have serious hp or tq dips in the curve for this car. We don't run V-TEC after all.

Early speculation:

With the tune hitting 188 preveiously with no cam timing changes, running the same setup ( catless 3") i will guess 204 on pump gas.

Wait, what? @johnbradley didn't tweak the cam timing on the tune he did for revision 4 (Up 46ft lb and 36whp in the dip)? If that is the case, there is certainly more power on the table.... I personally hope they revised the runner lengths enough to steal a bit of power from the torque dip area (so it's flat rather than a mountain) and add some power up top..

I'm 99% certain that's what jason said, but I am on my phone and searching the forum is a pain. Check around page 51 +/- 2

Or more likely... It's not getting the results they wanted. If they strapped it on the dyno and it laid down 210whp, you bet your ass there'd be a dyno posted here. They've posted dynes before to hype their product.

I dunno if it's more likely or likely at all. I do know Jason is visiting cosworth in England right now and the car, header, and who knows how many other parts are at the tuner being played with. We will see.

Ok, at home and I found it. Page 49, post #1070. I was partially correct, they didn't touch intake cam timing on that tune.

"That makes two of us. Haven't even played with intake cam timing yet, btw...lots more to have fun with. This could get even crazier really fast. Like I said before, this is a mild tune, there are a ton of tables we haven't even explored yet on the ECUTek tuning software...."
