Some people make reckless decisions when purchasing cars (spent too much, wrong choice for family, etc.) and others are on the 18 month new car cycle, some screw up a mod and sell the car before their friends see or rust starts, others just plain don't like the BRZ/FR-S once they own it.
Unless the person tells you the real reason, honestly you're never going to know why they sold their car, but don't let it discourage you from a Rocket Bunny kit if that's what you want. |

To pay off the credit cards they built the car with, as always.

I do subtle mods here and there. If something goes wrong with the car, I replace it with a better aftermarket component. I'm not one to buy every single part from day 1 and get sick of it.
Adding something new to your car keeps it exciting for a little longer IMO. Nick C.

Normal driving on city and rural streets causes vibrations that make the fiberglass crack over time. The fiberglass will form spyder cracks that show through the paint. Molded in flares show cracks along the molded lines. Riveted flares weaken at the rivets, show cracks and get loose. Cut fenders rust under the flares even if done right if driven in snow or wet climates.
The list goes on. I have seen many beautifully done widebodys over the years that look great when done but within 2 to 3 years they looked like crap. These are cars where either the original owner or the 2nd owner were under the delusion that they could drive the car as a daily. Widebody kits are best left to the show car circuit.

If the flares are weakening at the rivets, I'm sure by that time you'll have enough money to buy new flares, or even upgrade to a better kit. Excluding the hole to the door you make when cutting, which can easily be filled. I'm still not seeing a problem with making a Rocket Bunny a daily. |
