Tint and two used cheap tires for the rear just to burn up and save the new ones for DD, cheaper than you think.

Getting off the computer to adjust the clutch and then go for a long hill country drive.

Got the clutch adjusted by loosening the locknut, removing the pin and then rotating the fork assembly. It's still a bit higher than the brake, but release is much closer to the floor. For those who read that thread; "shorty" 12mm and 14mm open-end wrenches make the job much easier.
As I checked mail when ready to leave, my Grimmspeed master cylinder brace had arrived; so I took an extra 15 minutes to install it and then went for the long drive.
Clutch feel is much improved and the brakes feel much more solid ... nearly as solid as if I'd installed SS brake lines!

I had a bit of a panic after one stop when the recently-installed backup camera didn't work. I immediately thought that I'd broken a wire or had a defective camera. After taking a deep breath, I remembered that the head unit looks for a camera when first powered-up. If it doesn't see it; the camera function is disabled for the remainder of the drive. Shutting the car down and then restarting rebooted the head unit and brought the backup camera back on line.

That's one of the reasons I went with the BRZ over the FRS. Paying $20 less monthly in insurance. So with financing rates, and insurance savings a Limited BRZ costs me less than a zero-option FRS. Kind of a no brainer for me.

Don't want to be redundant and/or derail too much but I know I'm not the only one - why on earth is the BRZ insurance cheaper than the FR-S?

I honestly don't know. I'm with State Farm and they couldn't tell me why either, other than the Scion brand garnered higher premiums vs the Subaru brand.

I'm with USAA, have multiple cars, and have the same question. I assume that I'm getting the same "discount" as BadMoon.
Perhaps the company thinks Scions are hooned more than Subarus??

That was all I could think of. Subaru conjures images of lesbians in flannel cautiously driving Outbacks and Scion conjures images of gen-x guys with awkward goatees driving all over the road?

Or actuaries are jerks.

I feel guilty because I left my BRZ in the driveway this morning when I went for a mountain drive. My Primacies are shot, it was foggy overnight, I didn't want to go out and find some patch of water around a blind corner from fog dripping off a tree or something and end up putting the car in a ditch. Also I did feel like driving the Elise instead.

I still feel guilty

I think I'll have to make up for this abandonment by ordering some new tyres and taking it in this week for new tails, new tyres, and (hopefully) an exhaust fix to get rid of the awful leaking noises I'm getting when the car warms up... car sounds worse than your average ricer Civic when hot :\

I'm sure the buyer demographic of FRS is younger than that of BRZ.

It's all about the brand name. Scions are typically a younger audience. The FRS is the exception but insurance companies probably haven't caught up with that yet. Also the BRZ limited does have a few more features that the FRS doesn't like LED DRL and some kind of theft prevention which I don't understand fully yet. I work in insurance and companies are fickle and I have no doubt those are the likely reasons.
