Congrats on the baby! My second is due in three weeks now, and so far I've managed three and a half years without strangling my first.

So here's something I really didn't expect with a newborn.. I had a lot more free time than I expected I would while I was on paternity leave. They sleep so much more than I ever thought they would. Now if he needed tending to or my wife needed help I'd be there in an instant, but it's pretty much shifts of couple hours asleep, hour awake, etc. Then again, I also wasn't feeding the baby, so I had a bit of extra me time in those 20-30 minute spans. Summary = I still had plenty of gaming time. Absolutely exhausted though. Hell, as mentioned above my son's 3.5 now and I'm still exhausted, haha. Someone said earlier they didn't want to play games because they were tired.. well, that's one of my hobbies/escapes, so I make time for it. If it's something you really truly enjoy, there will be time.

Would absolutely not cut it as a stay at home dad unless I had to though. I'd go nuts.

This works great with some kids. Worked brilliantly with my son as well. But I've heard horror stories about kids that refuse to ride in the car and throw fits, won't sleep, etc.

Gonna second this. We plopped my son's Recaro car seat into a 500 Abarth for a test drive. Now, granted, it didn't take up quite as much room as an orphan seat, but my wife had plenty of room to move forward if she needed to. There's actually less room in the back of the FRS.

Short rant, not directed at you but this idea in general...

What is it about having kids that causes people to suddenly feel the need for big cars? Granted this gentleman's situation, buying a Corolla, is nothing crazy - but some people immediately go buy an SUV or minivan. I just don't get it...

I grew up in the back of a small Datsun and we loved it.
We actually had a 2dr Yaris liftback that we were planning on keeping, until the Britax convertible showed up. Yup, not happening. Bought a Camry. Even today it doesn't really look that big, but the Camry is a pretty damn huge car for a midsize sedan.

What he said heheh

Op, did you know frs can work for a baby.....I have two kids....I stay at home with them and drive them in my frs...

I will sometime let my husband take the frs when I'm in a good mood and drive his car

Here's a tip. When you get pulled over switch your baby to the driver's side.

Thumbs up

Congrats on the Little addition (Child) and Corolla's aren't that bad solid car you won't have to worry about. Granted not as exciting as the FR-S but at least you got to keep it.

Enjoy all of the above.

Hey man, Congrats!

You know the FR-S can hold a baby seat... or two

When he/she is 1.5 years old... they will be able to kick the back of the seat, so make sure they are behind the passenger.

Both my kids fall asleep within 10 minutes of riding in the FR-S... so it can handle babies with ease. They are 1 & 2 years old.

Anyways, enjoy the rest of your life. You will be consumed in 9 months.

You get to dress up like this:

And witness this:

Make sure you go inside the birthing room and take lots of pictures! That day will change your life. My wife hated the idea, and was even going to tell the doctor's not to let me in with the camera... but she loved the pictures afterwards.

Here's to you and your future family!

Congrats again!

Bro it's okay. Show this to the baby momma and you'll both know you made the right idea.
