Yup, it's a Sub 'homage' (that's watchspeak for 'knockoff'). Great quality though and a COSC certified movement and sapphire crystal. I really liked the shape of the hands, and I wanted something waterproof and with a sapphire crystal because my last watch got scratched up on the crystal, and was leaking water which led to its ultimate demise (it'd fog up on every humid day), so I didn't want to take any chances on scratching it or having it leak
You can still manage to scratch/mar sapphire under the right unfortunate circumstances. Don't ask me how I know.

Pro-tip: Keep it away from tempered glass.

Overall, good. It does as advertised - presents notifications on your wrist. My phone hasn't made a sound outside of alarms (and even those are moving to the watch, though it seems limited).

One big flaw I've found is that with the iPhone 5, and even with the iOS7 update, there's still a nasty buzzing when doing hands free in our cars. It's partially the head unit, and it's partially iOS's bad bluetooth stack. If I turn the pebble's BT off, the problem goes away.

So, I guess for longer trips, I'll turn the BT off. I'm not looking at notifications nor my wrist. Shorter trips, I can ignore the call and call right back.

Different enough than a Sub. A real 'homage' in the traditional sense of the word. Inspired by a Sub (and maybe a Seamaster with the dial texture), but not really trying to be a Sub.

Interesting watch. A guy I bought a used Orient from mentioned C.Ward but I didn't pay much attention, but I may look into the brand a little more thoroughly now.

Just some pictures of the Lum-Tec M48 (currently on the band from my Orient BRZ GT300 - I have 2 bands coming in for it; a lighter leather one and a black Nylon/Velcro adjustable tactical one) and new band for for my Orient Defender...

Has a nice really bright glow for 10-15 minutes after charging and easily readable any time at night afterwards at a diminished level.

My Oris Small Seconds and Sinn U1. I had to stop buying watches so I could afford parts for my FR-S.

I see your Chinese watches and raise you an Indian watch:

HMT Sona. Licensed Citizen 17 jewel handwind, with Parashock. 1400 Indian rupees new, which is ~$25 Canadian.

Damn, nice time pieces all! I've just started getting into watches lately and still learning a lot. I thought I was cool with my few G Shocks and Movado watches years ago haha.

I just ordered an HMT white pilot with blue hands. I'm very excited to get it.

That's a great watch. I was very close to buying one but went with a Hamilton Khaki King Scuba instead. When the C. Ward "Nearly New" sale started I ordered a C7 chrono which I'm anxious to receive. I wish it was an auto, but for the price it seems like a great deal.

King Scuba:

ETA 2834-2; sapphire; great bracelet. The face is a little busy but in person it's beautiful.

Very much liking the caseback and the day of the week. Looks like the bezel is very similar except for the pip of lume at 12 o'clock. I think a lot of diver watches have big of notches cut into the edges. I guess that gives you a better grip, and perhaps it's silly to wear a dive watch around anyway, but the ones that have these huge notches around the bezel are just too chunky looking for me. I like the smaller notches on yours and mine.

Anyone got any MTM watches? Are those things even worth the money?

I personally have had a Casio PAW-1300T since 2008 and that thing is exactly as advertised:

- Rugged (take it to construction sites, shit holes, etc.)
- Accurate (when it can synch up, it is just as good as most of the best)
- Doesn't need batteries (aside from a 2 month stint it served indoors and I drained its battery, it charged up within a day of direct sunlight)

Love the watch albeit it is slightly on the larger side but it works!
