I used to bowl a lot, but nothing professional lvl or anything. I still can bowl decently (ave 220~250). Can spin the bowl either side (right spin & left spin). I use pinky & promise finger to hold the bowl (yes, I know, I'm weird), but it's easy for me to spin the bowl either direction.

...but due to busy life, I haven't bowl for long time

I used to bowl in leagues when I was younger. Now I go about once a year. Average around 180.

I weigh 140 and use a 12-14 lb ball. My style is very unorthodox but it works when my aim is on point. No spin, pure power (i do a little jump before i release, my friends make fun of me), right side approach from the start, aim for 1-3. When I strike, the pins fucking explode

I bowl right handed, left side, almost center approach, aim 2nd arrow. Just picked up my new ball the other day, bought it mostly on looks, but the performance specs fit my skid-flip style and it works well for me. I have a league avg of only 130, but it is increasing as lately I have been rolling consistent 175-190 games. I started last year using plastic house balls and no spin, rely on pure speed and power, Rolling 19.5-21 mph. I stated working on proper form/technique and having a ball properly drilled. Now roll only around 17.5 mph.

New Ball, Motiv Tribal. :

I used to bowl as a kid and was on a junior league for 4 or 5 years. My best game was a 220, but my average was about 170. I threw a left-handed hook with my right hand, which resulted in a lot of 7/ 8/ 9/ frames. I always seemed to leave 1-3 pins behind, but I could always pick them up no problem. Coaches always said I would mess up my wrist throwing like I did and they were mostly right. I would always be sore after just three games. I never did keep up with it, but my team took 2nd place 3 years in a row. Would have had first two of those years if they didn't cheat the handicap system. We beat them scratch each time by more than 40.

Funny that you made this thread, my job is having a little party at a bowling place. Any cool advices you would like to give to me, besides hit the pins with the balls?

Throw the heaviest ball you can throw

You'll probably just roll a straight ball with no hook etc. so for that I would advise you to not aim at the arrows, aim far down the lane. (Pins). And follow through your shot (hand above your head. If you leave a 10 pin, furthest right and back row. Line up on the left dot and aim center arrow to increase your chances by giving yourself more lane to work with. Opposite for 7 (left) pin. And definitely use a heavy ball to get more pin action to increase your pin count. Let us know how you do.

That sucks. I'm lucky enough to have 6 lanes within a 5-20 minute drive from my house so that makes it pretty easy to roll almost any time I want.

I am currently in a bowling league. I just started this year and I average around 150 in 10pin.. My ball has a slight hook to it and I'm tempted to buy a new ball with something with a huge hook :p

Any pointers would b great! I aim at the 2nd dot farthest to the right of the lane (the dots right when the lane starts). Thanks!

Sounds like you got a similar skid flip style like I roll. Practice, and practice a lot. But one of the best things I was told when I was staring. Practice when you are bowling good. When you are off, stop otherwise you are just practicing bad habits. Hitting your mark and release is key after that you can always adjust to lane conditions, ball, etc.
