That open top so delicious, what a great car, hope they really do use alot of it for the Supra. in Fact I'll just be glad we get another Supra, and I'm hoping it's not break the bank NEW NSX range Price.

LFA Successor Discussed

Quote:
In other Lexus news, the Lexus LF-LC concept shown at the 2012 Detroit auto show may hint at the LFA supercar’s successor, according to Autocar. Set above the upcoming Lexus RC coupe, an LFA successor could serve as the brand’s halo car.

“I have the expectation that car will be launched,” said Haruhiko Tanahashi, who led LFA development. “I personally hope the LF-LC will be built. I think most of Lexus’s concept cars have been turned into production cars.” Where the carbon-fiber intensive LFA featured an F1 inspired 4.8-liter V-10 engine, the LF-LC concept could be based on a shortened version of the LS sedan’s chassis and be powered by a hybrid powertrain. If a production version of the LF-LC concept were to materialize, it would arrive at a lower price point than the near $400,000 LFA.

“We want a whole level of real F products with a car like the LFA being at the top of it,” said Mark Templin, head of Lexus. “It doesn't mean we have something on the drawing board.” While no time frame was given for LF-LC production, it will likely come after F-badged variants of existing models, such as the GS F and the 5.0-liter V-8 powered RC F that Lexus will show off at the 2014 Detroit auto show.

Great! I guess it will be based on new LS? I wonder what Lexus is doing in regards to CF. They have the know-how with LFA, will Lexus also use CF as BMW will in the next 7 Series?

Tada San will be the Executive Producer of the next Supra.

According to Tada San, and available technology, to keep the Supra performance (Legendary) and the price in the 50sh is impossible.

But Mr Toyoda want the Supra Successor.

Tada San is too busy with the 86, so Tada San turn around and seek helps from all within Toyota departments.

Tada San came up with an Idea.

New Supra will have I4 Turbo charged, taken from LF-NX.

New Supra will have next gen Prius Hybrid super system...together with Super Capacitor from Racing technologies.

New Supra will be based out on the already developed 86 Chasis with new exterior styling.

All in All, Tada- San is hoping to see 3200 lbs curb weight, 400/400 Hp/Trq.

Mr.Toyoda is very happy with it on the paper....but the weird thing is, he asked Lexus division to make a racing concept of GS V8 Twin turbo, which is pumping out 650+ HP/Torque. Well, people spied it on the Nurburing, and couple more in Japan. Rumors have it, that Toyota is making like 3 of them for the High lvl Developer of the company.

So, what are we seeing here ?

Probably, a super hybrid for Supra

Probably, a super V8 twin turbos for RC-F....F ? or IS-f---FFF ?

If Toyota however decided to make a V8 Twin Turbo integrated....it will not have enough FFFFfffFFfff in the name...Because seeing it on Paper or in life will just make you say "FFFFFFFFfffffffffffffFFFFFFFFFF....K"
do you have a link to that?

i think you mean platform and not chassis...

but the BMW/Toyota press release has said no platform...

It's not old news. If you read the previous press releases they only agreed to a "feasibility study" by the end of 2013, with no guarantees it would actually result in a product. Now however, they have given the project the green light, hence the recent announcement.

Still old news. This is just the next step in the process. However, it would be news if they scrapped it.

And there has already been over a year of speculation as to what it will be, drivetrain, engine, price range, etc. So as far as "let the speculation begin" goes, yeah... it's been ongoing. Notice the lack of interest in discussing what the car will be on this thread?

But if you wanna argue for the sack of arguing, go for it. This forum seems to have a lot of that.

Ok, look how many threads we have on the BMW and Toyota joint midsize sports car.

Why can't people do a search and add "new" stories and articles to the exiting thread?

There is no need for 8+ BMW/Toyota sport car threads.

Mods, can you please merged all of the following into one official thread please?
