They ordered me a new water pump and fuel pump when mine was changed out. Didn't change shit! Just keep the music up and the straight pipe exhaust singing and you won't even hear it.

I've read that people have still had the problem but I'm hopeful for the insulated pump. It's really more for tracking the issue.

At least with your 2014 the BeSpoke head unit isn't a total piece of shit!

2 weeks on the new pump, but I've put over 1000 miles on (~300 over Christmas) and still no noises. Hope things stay that way

Still no crickets on the insulated fuel pump. Filling up my next tank tomorrow.

I am now on my third fuel pump, two old versions TSB Rev1 and now the third one TSB Rev2. ~500miles on the new pump and the crickets are back. Really strange thing is the old pump was behaving in our New Hampshire cold weather but the new fuel pump is chirping even at 30 degree temps. At my wits end as what to do next, live with it or have another knock down drag out episode with the dealer. It's a shame cause it really is a nice car but that noise is very annoying not to mention the lost time for "repairs" at the dealership.

You should see if they can insulate your fuel pump. Mine chirped like hell in all temps with the new part number fuel pump. I'm on week 2 of the insulation and haven't heard a single chirp. I think this is our true fix. Its a more logical fix since the pump function is fine.

Matt, what exactly is the "insulation" part of your pump that they added? From what I understand, I have the newest pump that is internally insulated. But after a week it started chirping again. Not nearly as loud as original, but still noticeable and annoying!

So I waited a few hundred miles after my pump's first incidence of chirping to post my unfortunate news. I have the newest pump and this was my first pump exchange.

I have 1,700 miles on the new pump and the chirping is 1) not nearly as loud and annoying as the original and 2) intermittent in occurrence. The engine still sounds more throaty and overall much better than it did with the original pump during it's final days of all-out-chirping.

I have 7K total on odo. Has anyone taken count of how many of the newest pumps are chirping again?

I'm gonna guess it's additional foam insulation around the exterior of the pump. Pretty much what they did with the new Forester DIT engine.

What Andrew stated above is correct. Its a foam like insulation that completely eliminates any hint of the sound. My car sounds normal again with the same chirping pump. I will be keeping an eye on it after a few more tanks of gas.

There are at least 5 reports on here now with the new one chirping or them coming back over time.

I'm going to talk to Toyota in a few weeks to follow up on mine. I'm hoping they make one last TSB where you take your car in for 15 minutes and get it wrapped up in the insulation and call it a day.

Assuming that I'm one of those 5...I checked earlier and there were no crickets. Color me confused because it's far warmer today than when I made my most recent report a few days ago.

But like I've been saying: I can live with crickets, but not woodpeckers.
