Hey guys...First off, happy holidays to the entire 86 community!

I joined the forums a couple months ago and posted on here that I was going to be getting an FR-S soon. It's been such a hectic holiday season and schedule, but a few days ago I finally had time to hit the dealerships and get the heck out of my crappy accord. (family owned since 2000, still going strong with 250K miles and counting! ha) ..okay, more importantly- I ended up getting a 2013 10 Series FR-S. Not too sure how I feel about the fancy glowing badges and stuff, as I actually don't like extra attention but at the same time..hey, why not? However- Push start, keyless entry and HID + LED lights are incredibly awesome.

Also, I should be receiving my KW v.3 coil-overs next week. Really excited about these. I was wondering if anybody knows a great mechanic in the Los Angeles area? I'd really appreciate a PM. Music and cars have always been my passion, but I just never had the luck to own or drive a great car. To wake up, look out the window and see my 86 sitting pretty outside is unreal. Don't think I'll ever get used to this feeling..

I'll be posting more pics soon, but here's what I got! (pretty random shots)

Cheers! - Mike

New to Forum, Just picked up my Black FRS on Monday. Merry Christmas to me...LOL

Convinced the wife that my 2 kids actually can fit in the back.

Came from dealer with Leather installed. Not gonna do much to it til the warranty is up, just some minor cosmetic stuff.

New to the forum and possibly considering one of these sporty little cars! But have a few questions!

1- Subaru or Scion and why? Please don't get real technical!

2- Auto or Stick and why?

3- rough estimate of insurance you are paying?

4- Biggest differences in the 2?

5-Avg fuel economy on Hwy? Plan on using it as a commuter! 55 miles one way to work!

6-Some of the best performance mods!!

And lastly, what is the biggest factor I'm you purchasing one of these cars?? Keep it short and simple!

I plan on trading my 04Mustang GT in on this! It has around 250,000 miles and starting to show its age, engine wise! Having to fix something all the time!

What's the deal with the front bumper? They look similar to me! I can understand the customer service part, but how is it faster (Scion)? Aren't they pretty much identical?

Well, HELLO, csjcsj and WELCOME to ..... The Forum .....

To address your questions (IMHO)

1. it doesn't matter; which ever dealer has the car (color & transmission) you desire

2. if you like to shift, get the MT; if you don't, get the AT

3. $65.00/month ..... less than a lot of cars

4. the looks of the front end; suspension (minor)

5. around 30 mpg

6. different tires; drop in free-er flowing intake; free-er flowing exhaust

7. I wanted a relatively economical, dependable, quick, fun to drive, coupe, with a bit more space than my miata (sorta of a back seat)

Happy hunting!

Humfrz Thanks! Those are the kind of answers I'm looking for!

Is there a difference in performance with the auto or stick!

Reason is I also have a 2010 Camaro SS, and the manual has more Hp motor wise, but the auto is quicker stock for stock!
I've drove sticks all my life and was leaning towards an auto because my daily commute involved lots of stop and go traffic! But not hung up on the auto!

Maybe ...... cause they (FR-S) has a slightly lower CoD (coefficient of drag) and weighs a few pounds less.

Neither of which would make a significant difference in average driving.

Some say the auto is a bit slower "off the line".
