It is not fair for you, making >126k and driving cars similar to those earning 30k. You should probably consider moving upto a Porsche for your income level.

So based off this subie marketing info, should we be expecting higher prices then the initial speculation? 25k for the FRS, 27k for premium and 29k for the limited?

Sorry for bringing this up again, Im just trying to gather as much info as possible since a lot of us will be ordering trim levels without knowing the prices.

Doubt it. The car seems geared at a broad class of buyers who don't have much to spend. 90k for a family with teenage-age kids is not a demographic that could splurge a lot on sport cars. So that info did not shift my expectations of price one bit.

The tradeoff is the rpms drop more on the auto from 5 to 6... I doubt you'll get to 6th gear on a track :P

It's a completely stupid way to gear the car by the way.

Now you can claim that a Toyota is a re-badged Subaru. Since a Lexus is a re-badged Toyota, maybe it can be claimed that Lexus is a Subaru. But then, pigs can fly. Too many "facts" to digest. Whatever makes your day.L

Household income of 89k really isn't that crazy high to shift the pricing IMO.

Actually, Tada-san is more mechanically inclined and oversaw engineering from the early stages to final testing with a counterpart chief engineer from Subaru. The mule was Subaru's but you can't say Toyota wasn't in the field with it. Yes the car is being manufactured at a Subaru plant but I doubt Toyota has no say in engineering for manufacturing (having set revolutionary standards mimicked by other companies today). Corollas and Tacomas were built in a GM plant by the hands of GM employees but Toyota enforced manufacturing processes. I imagine something similar in Gunma. Don't forget the BRZ has Toyota's automatic gearbox, revamped engine with D-4S and components designed for it to sit farther aft/lower. Not all of that is necessarily Subaru. I think it's fair to credit both sides. Perhaps Toyota's RWD-specialists drew the original engineering layouts/specs and asked Subaru to execute? Like how a facilities engineer knows what needs to be done and directs facility technicians to execute. Or how Apple gives China some drawings and tells them to make iPhones.

I believe Dezi Nagaya (below) was in charge of styling.

Tada actually did chief engineer work for the FT86 and I repeat FT86. Someone else from his team with his approval made the FT86II Nagaya. Subaru didn't have a concept car or mule because they did all the testing using the AS1 platform. Later on Subaru chose the BRZ front and put it on the body of what everyone was happy with which is the 86 we see today, but ofcourse BRZ is an 86 with some diff and another front. Subaru did mostly everything in terms of testing, engine work etc. But what ever they did they always has one Toyota engineer with them.

The entire subject is hard to justify because like I said in the other thread it's like saying it's all thanks to your Mother that you and your twin are born and raised, but you forget that your dad had a part in it too.
