Any BRZ owner in Los Angeles area?

Hello,

My name is Aaron. I currently drive a 2010 Mazdaspeed3 and am looking to purchase a BRZ very soon.

Was wondering if any BRZ owner in Los Angeles area can let me test drive the car some time this week. I've test driven a FRS over the weekend, but it was just way too short..

I live in Pasadena area and work in Koreatown area. I can definitely drive out a little for this. Even like 10 minute test drive will mean a lot to me.

If this is not the right forum to post something like this, please feel free to move or remove, mods.

Thank you very much.

Yes, I can do that too. But I've already been to my local Subaru dealer couple times back in June, they didn't let me test drive it. They had mark ups on the cars too. It was the Glendale Subaru.

And even if I get to test drive it, it would be just around the block. Was wondering if anyone on the forum was alright with me driving it more than just one block around the dealership. haha

Just asking, that's all.

That's the reason why I bought an FRS over a BRZ lol. Did you try Sierra Subaru or Puente Hills subaru? Those two are pretty close to Pasadena.

Haha yeah man.. the local Scion dealer was very cool about the test drive, but I don't know why this Subaru dealer is giving me crap about test driving a $28k car. haha

Anyway, I'll email those two dealers to see if it's okay to test drive. I haven't been to those dealers before. Thanks for the suggestion.

Protip: test drive a FRS.

The two cars are mechanically identical. You won't know/feel a difference from a simple test drive.

For the BRZ, ask to sit in one and turn on electronics to get a feel for the head unit. Everything else is identical (minus seat and minor heating options)

Thank you. I'll contact them as well. It's a bit far though.

I did test drive a FRS. If fact, the Scion dealer is about 3 minutes away from where I live.

It still is only around a block. The car felt lovely, but I still wanted to test drive around a little bit more than that to see how it is. That's all.

And I believe the BRZ Limited has much nicer center console than a FRS so wanted to check that out as well.

Thank you for your suggestion though!

Hmm.. Glendale Subaru. I actually got my test drive there in March. Ask for Chris. If you are a serious buyer I don't think they will refuse you a test drive. The thing is if you tried asking for a test drive in June, when they still had these BS "mark ups", things might've been harder. Maybe things will be different now in December. Search dealer inventories around and see which one has the most BRZs in stock. I guarantee you they will be trying to get rid of them.

I'm surprised that Subaru dealers are still pulling this mark up crap after a whole year of the car being released.

Just received a quote for BRZ Limited 6MT in White color from 5 different Subaru dealers. All gave me about $2k off the MSRP except Glendale.

The Internet rep just said they don't have one in white color and their price is MSRP.

When I went to the Glendale dealer back then, they were treating a BRZ like a Porsche 911 Turbo. The sales guys were doing nothing in the parking lot and no customers at all. When I asked them I'm interested in BRZ and wanted to test drive it, they simply said they don't allow test drive on this car, period. They are definitely not getting my $.

Its really hassle free no pressure too. I just walked in and told them the car I was interested in. They pulled it up to the front and we went for a drive. Afterwards I just told them I would call them if I was interested. No pressure.

Thanks man.

Couldn't resist and made an appointment for a test drive at Buena Park Carmax TONIGHT. haha

Hopefully, they will let me drive it more than around a block.
