Wow I'm feeling like an old man at 34. Shouldnt all of you 20 somethings be buying the FRS? LOL. You're flying in the face of all of Subaru's market research.

I will say that based on the results of this informal poll, if Subaru is really shooting for the 47year old as their target market, they've really ****Ed this up. No 50 year old is going to be hot after this car when a bunch of 20 somethings are the primary owners. Unless they price it up way higher than expected, in which case they will have alienated the market that is already available in favor of one they hope to develop.

At that age I'd be looking at Corvette GS/Z06 and several other cars that are way more mid-life crises oriented.

Doubt it. A lot of 40-50 y/o have
a) house bought during the bubble they at least lost a lot of home equity in over the last few years. So half of nest-egg gone.
b) their 401k portfolios are hurting
c) Kids are college-age and tuition fees are rising at an astronomical pace.

These guys aren't from baby-boomer generation and don't have enough dough saved to convince themselves that they are enough well-off to be buying expensive cars. So, yeah, on this forum there will be a lot of 'interested buyers' among under-30s. A lot of them will be saying "this better cost <$2?k or I'll walk". And I'm pretty sure actual median buyer age won't be below 40.
